Opportunity! A work of mercy for a poor man, recently deceased, at the “traditional” parish in Rome – ACTION ITEM

In my adoptive neighborhood in Rome, at my adoptive parish, there was a young man named Gaetano Tinnirello. He lived rough, in the streets, and often was at the doors of my adoptive parish Ss. Trinità dei Pellegrini, the Vetus Ordo parish in Rome, to beg alms of those who came and went.

Gaetano died in the hospital yesterday of a pulmonary infection.

One of the FSSP priests went to the hospital to visit and to give him Last Rites.

Tomorrow at 1500h (Roma – CET) they are celebrating a Solemn Requiem Mass for Gaetano.

The parish has assumed all the expenses for the return of his body to his home province Reggio Emilia so that be can be buried by his family. The expenses will be from Euro 2000-3000.

When Ss. Trinità needed funds to install a baptismal font, you were there.

That was for the beginning of Christian lives.

Will you help at the end of a Christian life, too?

Make a donation.

HERE

It’s November, friends.  Pray for Gaetano and please make a donation to this good cause.  Help the Roman parish.

It is a corporal work of mercy to bury the dead.

ACTION ITEM! MUST SHARE! DO YOUR PART! In Chicago – “Save the Latin Mass Campaign”

MUST SHARE! DO YOUR PART!

You might remember Cupich’s fawning comments about Traditionis custodes.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tuesday, November 16th

The Coalition for Canceled Priests in conjunction with the Lepanto Institute and Regina Magazine has launched Save the Latin Mass in Chicago. The rollout of this initiative on Sunday involved visits by two highly visible mobile billboard trucks to Holy Name Cathedral, which is the home parish of Cardinal Cupich, as well as Holy Trinity, St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Mary of the Angels and St. John Cantius parishes, and raised awareness about the growing crackdown on the form of worship practiced by most of the saints throughout the history of the Church.

CCFP Chair Fr. John Lovell states, “The Coalition stands side by side with The Lepanto Institute and Regina Magazine in our commitment to defend The Traditional Latin Mass and the priests who celebrate it. We encourage priests to learn the ancient Roman Rite. We’re thrilled to report that the campaign is receiving overwhelming support as we take it from Chicago to the USCCB in Baltimore.”

In the wake of the pope’s recent Motu Proprio, “Traditionis Custodes”, several US bishops are implementing a series of increasingly severe restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass, with the ultimate goal of eradicating it completely. In response, Catholic laity from around the US have united in a shared mission to preserve the Mass of the Ages. Empowered by Canon 212, we have a right and a duty to inform our church leaders when they are in error.

Many of the priests who celebrate the TLM are now under pressure and in fear of being removed from their active roles as priests. The Coalition for Canceled Priests stands publicly in their defense, assuring them that the Catholic faithful are and will remain solidly behind them.

The Save the Latin Mass campaign will now move to other cities, making it clear to aggressive bishops that Catholics have had enough. Coupled with the successful Not One More Penny! billboard campaign, we are showing the bishops and the world that we will allow neither our holy priests nor the Mass in its timeless form to be taken from us.

The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with enthusiastic responses from Mass goers and many others encountered in the broader community. The social media response and contributions to our new crowdfunding campaign are growing. There have been many requests to bring the campaign to other locations around the country.

Your thoughts about the US Bishops and reviving belief in the Eucharist

The US bishops are going to meet in their annual November blabfest.   It seems they will discuss how to revive belief in and devotion to the Eucharist.

I am not overly sanguine about their ability to produce anything proportioned to the seriousness of the problem.   I would be surprised if they could come up with even “half measures”.   Some will have proposals rooted in traditions (sort of).  Others will immediately counter and diffuse with wokeness… because that’s their role in this, if you get my drift.

While I have my own ideas about how that might be approached, I wonder what you think.

How might the bishops, as a body and as individuals, work in concrete ways to restore, revive, expand belief in and devotion to the Eucharist according to the mind of the Church (not the heresies of modernists).

Meanwhile.

@ArchbishpSample of @archdpdx issues a dispensation regarding Francis’ very own Plessy v. Ferguson

The cruel Francis’ legacy document – his very own Plessy v. Ferguson – Traditionis custodes is calling forth what many reasonable people think are unnecessary statements from dioceses. Some are really bad, but that is to be expected given those certain bishops. Some, neutral. Some rather wry.

What about the Archdiocese of Portland? Archbishop Sample – a friend of many years – is an accomplished canonist.

Note two things.  The total lack of front-loaded blah blah, faux pastoral moaning and cooing of self-justification.  Next, the key canons he cites at the top, 14 and 87.

This on the eve of the USCCB meeting.

My hope is that Archbp. Sample will, soon, celebrate a Pontifical Mass at the Throne.

ACTION ITEM! Be a “Custos Traditionis”!
Join an association of prayer for the reversal of
“Traditionis custodes”.
