Children of Men Revisited

I am rereading The Children of Men by P.D. James after my unfortunate viewing of the new movie of the same name.

It had been some years since I read the book but I remembered something very different from what I saw on the screen.

I have come to the conclusion that the movie was more than just a lousy movie, which it certainly was. It was a wicked movie. It was at times always rather dopey. Wicked + dopey = avoid.

If you are at all tempted to see this rotten film, for the love of God, get the book and read it first.

The book is great and very thought provoking.

One Response to Children of Men Revisited

    Dear Fr.:

If I may ask, in what way(s) do you feel that the film is wicked? I haven’t seen it yet, but have been interested by the trailers.
