Manipulus ‘Pueri Mundi’

The Maniple was originally a symbol of the sorrow of the priesthood, as it was used to wipe his sweat.
I find it interesting that it still really DOES remind a lot of priests of this, because many have real problems saying Mass with the Maniple. It is a sacrifice, because it is awkward to have that thing on one’s arm. That is why some take it off to preach. They are often stiff, and difficult to pin in place. One has to be careful when wearing it.

then I thought, Hang on a minute, maybe Fr Z has developed some irony from his week in Britain.
But then I saw that it had been sent from LA, so who can tell? Maybe there really is a company called Maniple Productions.
Now I don’t know what to believe.

Oh! This has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen! Guess what? For some odd reason, our parish, where none of the priests ever uses a Chalice Veil, has a Children of the world Chalice Veil that my children find hilarious in its ugliness!
