Not joining in the frolics over at the guesthouse then? ;)

    I jest.

God bless Our Pope and Our Pope Emeritus

HH Ben XVI reminds me of my father in his declining years, and I think of him with a similar respect and affection. God bless him and grant him serenity in his life of prayer.

  3. BLB Oregon says:

It comforts me to think that our Holy Father has the prayers of his immediate predecessor at his back door, adding to the prayers of his other predecessors in Heaven. I hope it comforts him, too.

I also hope that whatever Benedict is able to write in his retirement is published. He is very gifted, and writing is a work for the Church that holy men and women cannot do once they have reached their heavenly reward.

this story and the picture bring me great comfort…the great Teacher and Theologian Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI living a few hundreds yards away from Pope Francis, ( described last night on EWTN as the “poor man’s Benedict”, i.e. his teachings are completely in line with his Venerable Predecessor but he is able to interpret them for the common man)…
As an aside I have been thinking a lot about the last 3 popes during my lfetime ( in total I have lived through 7 of them) and their affect on me, Blessed John Paul II gave me courage to witness to the faith, Benedict XVI increased my desire to know my faith and through the Word of God and Pope Francis has increased my desire to become more interiorly collected i.e. pray more…all GREAT men, bringing alive different aspects of my faith…what a great blessing to be part of the ONE, HOLY and APOSTOLIC CHURCH

I read in the Vatican’s daily news that Francis was going to meet Benedict XVI at the helipad upon his return to Vatican City.

Looks like the Marines are swooping back in! Take cover!

  7. majuscule says:

Pope Emeritus Benedict looked so much…I don’t have the word…more relaxed, healthier…just so much better after his time away. How wonderful to see Pope Francis greeting him! I know his prayerful presence will only benefit our holy church.

    Willkommen zu Hause!!
I read that Benedict’s old desk, upon which he wrote “Introduction to Christianity” is in his new home. I hope that he spends many hours there writing another great masterpiece for us to devour! But until then, may he find respite in the gardens, the goldfish and kittens and his piano!

    God bless Papa Emerito!

  9. Jack Regan says:

Brilliant news. Pope Benedict will be a great source of support and prayer for Pope Francis.

  10. Nancy D. says:

“His teachings are completely in line with his Venerable Predecessor.”

How can this be true? See page 117 in the book, Heaven and Earth, where Pope Francis, in his own words states that same-sex unions that are private do not affect those persons involved in same-sex unions, or society.
