This is worth your time. The Domincan Sister of Mary Mother of the Eucharist react to the election of Pope Francis. It seems that they had a film crew there while they were working on the production of their music disc. (More on the disc HERE. I posted samples there.)
I wonder if at the LCWR meeting the sister there who read my blog will show this to the others.
And there was something on them on NPR.
At the twelve-second mark, that rather looks like the former YouTuber SheIsCatholic :) she discerned a vocation for religious life with the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist and followed through on it, so it very well could be her.
Beautiful. It’s inspiring to see such joyful sisters.
This makes me so happy!
I have been blessed to know several of these wonderful Sisters in my time, and have met Mother Assumpta Long on a handful of occasions. They are always so full of the joy that is evident in this video. God bless them, their ministry, and all the sons and daughters of Dominic!
Thank you for posting this, Father! It was lovely to see these wonderful sisters. I teared up – what a beautiful video. Exactly what I needed for perspective today.
One of my dear friends is planning to join these sisters after college. Of course, I’m biased towards the Carmelites, but that’s family loyalty…the Dominicans are awesome!
Beautiful video!
Their beauty shines forth!
Awww that made me tear up. The beauty and joy in them is humbling.
Such holy simplicity and Faith. Wow.
Their joy brought me joy!
Joy, Prayer and the ringing of bells. God bless the Sisters of Mary.
I have seen that video before and LOVE it! I want to note, when Pope Francis was elected and I first saw that video, I checked out the Sinsinawa Dominicans’ facebook page, and they had a picture of themselves watching the announcement on TV and described a sense of joy and some of the same details, like ringing their bell. The Sinsinawa Dominicans are aged and in many ways very, very different but in this case what struck and interested me was how similar in many ways their reaction was, even if it could not compete with the priceless adorableness of the Sisters of Mary.
