So, Starbucks has a concert supposedly to honor veterans. They invite people to perform whom they knew would do an anti-war song from era when vets were scorned and they invited a rapper whose lack of class is demonstrated through the foulness of his language… during a televised event that families and children could watch.
Starbucks, in addition, also has a commercial featuring a cross-dresser in an effort to mainstream, even more, open perversion.

I’ve shunned Starbucks since I learned of their corporate support of same-sex “marriage.” Didn’t know about the concert but not at all surprised.

Last week I ordered MM coffee, for the first time, as Christmas presents for various family members. I ordered their 4 bag-1 sampler, free shipping deal. I got two bags each of their Royal Rum Pecan and Carmel roasts, and the Midnight Vigils sampler (which I set aside for my own enjoyment, as I’d never actually drank MM and wanted to try it). They all smelled incredible.
Yesterday, I brewed up the sampler pack, which made more coffee than I expected–about 8 cups, by my reckoning of one heaping tablespoon per cup. Now, I don’t pretend be a coffee aficionado, but I really enjoyed it, either hot or iced, with or without milk and sugar. They may have me “hooked.” After seeing this, I have all the more reason to buy their coffee and forgo the expensive, yucky, morally questionable stuff that Starbucks puts out.
The question is, will I be able to wait until Christmas-time to sneak a cup of Royal Rum Pecan from my brother’s coffee pot?…
Never liked Starbucks–Mystic Monk is superior coffee. I have even more reason to like it now because in January my son will be entering as a postulant with these monks.
I have never been to a Starbucks and never will because of some of their policies, but it appears there are valid reasons for this one. According to the comments following that article:
(a) Starbucks is banning only rings with stones.
(b) Similar policies are common in the food service industry because crud can get lodged in the stone/setting, leading to bacterial growth, which can then be dislodged and transferred to the food.
Does anybody know if the Mystic Monk “Monk Shots” are going to work with the new Keurig 2.0 systems? We ended up switching from a Keurig made machine to Mr. Coffee’s version because of the issues with older K-cups and the new machines.
