I wouldn’t say the black chasubles are cool, more like very focusing…

Is there an inexpensive place to stay nearby? Otherwise I might opt for a nap in my car before returning home. The Mass that you mention strikes me as a tremendous opportunity.

    The Tait!

I am envious. For reasons unbeknownst to me, for the first time in the five years that I’ve been attending the Latin Mass, we are not having a sung requiem Mass.

  5. Joe in Canada says:

What would you recommend for clerics who would like to attend but who do not have a cassock etc?

[Short term, come anyway. Not quite short term: get proper choir dress.]

  6. Thomas S says:

Does anyone know if there are any special options for a funeral Mass offered on All Souls Day?

This year we are having a sung Requiem Mass. Father has had private low Masses on All Souls in previous years. But this year he is in charge, this Mass was announced in the bulletin and we have an organist and cantor coming from elsewhere.

Several years ago during the month of November I had a very stirring experience in this church when praying for souls in Purgatory.

  8. a catechist says:

a solemn Requiem also being offered with the cathedral choir singing de Victoria – Cathedral of the Epiphany, Sioux City, IA, 7pm.

In your kindness, please pray I’ll be able to attend, as a family situation makes it iffy!

Sacred Heart of Jesus in Grand Rapids, Michigan will have a TLM at 7pm for both All Saints and All Souls.

  10. Ben Yanke says:

The introit of the Victoria Requiem a4 is my favorite. I feel it portrays “eternal rest grant unto them O Lord” so well with it’s tone which is full of repose and rest. Can’t wait to sing it tonight…

    Lucas Whittaker:

Baymont Inn in Middleton has rooms for $72 a night, just a few minutes away from the Mass. It’s the cheapest place google shows me on that side of town that doesn’t look trashy.
