Of course, the Twin Cities is only the most liveable
metropolitan area in the country — due largely to the influence
of its liberal tradition in media, politics, education and
investment in public infrastructure.
I guess P Bunyan was making an attempt at sarcasm. I was born in Minneapolis & can
testify that he can’t possibly be serious. For my part, I’d like to see which
newspapers would NOT be eligible for the “Unreadalbe Sludge” award. Its going to be
very tough to find one.

Both my brothers lived in greater Minneapolis, and I always enjoyed the visit. A beautiful area.
But the politics of the Land of 10,000 Taxes is another matter. And I don’t know how well the St Paul Archdiocese has recovered from the years of Archbishop Roach, the man who took the phrase running into a 7-11 literally. (Or, as my Irish rector in Rome said, the good Archbishop was using the bishop’s entrance.)
A shorter list would be a list of good diocesan papers. Of course most people only have to endure one.
To rbrown: We are recovering, thank you.
PBunyon: Aren’t you supposed to be feeding Babe?
I see the definition of “worst” is most left-wing. In that case, I dispute the StarTribune being the worst. I find it horribly biased towards the left but it’s not the worst.
For liberal bias you can’t do any worse then the San Francisco Chronicle or the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
For anti-Catholici bias the New York Times heads my list. The Boston Globe is a close second
I like Chris’ idea of a list of best/worst Archdiocesan newspapers.
