I spent the Triduum of 2003 at Heiligenkreuz with a friend of mine, in the middle of our semester in Austria. It was absolutely beautiful, if a bit disappointing that they ‘slipped’ into German for the major liturgies at which a good number of townsfolk attended. For guests who stayed at the monastery, provision was made for attending most of the Liturgy of the Hours in the small chapel with the monks, which were all in Latin. Heavenly!
N.B.: The chanted psalms, etc., were in Latin–not the monks. :)
CD’s are widely available now, including a holiday version with Advent and Christmas chants. Nice Christmas present.
