The Holy Father was just at the Piazza di Spagna for the annual bestowing of the wreath of laurels on the statue of the Immaculate Conception.

Now if someone actually donated a tufted fascia to His Holiness…

I do love the winter mozetta.

    Camuro? When will it appear?

BTW, one block from Piazza di Spagna (on the side of the obelisk opposite from where the cars are parked) is the little church I mentioned in another post. S Andrea delle Fratte, site of the Marian apparition to the Jew Alphonse Rattisbonne.

Why is the Pope wearing an Easter Papal stole??

  6. Flambeaux says:

    Feast of the Immaculate Conception

  7. Gustavo Ráez-Patiño says:

My question was because at all previous years the Pope wore the normal red Papal stole for this feast.
Anyway I thought the Easter Papal stole was just for… Easter.

  8. Flambeaux says:

Looks white and gold, which are permitted on IC, AFAIK.

But I certainly don’t have any inside knowledge, so if someone knows/understands more, do speak up.

  9. Gustavo Ráez-Patiño says:

As far as I know, the Pope wears always a red stole when he dresses “in choro”, except at Eastertide, when he wears a white stole with a white mozzetta, as we saw last year.

So, yes, white is the liturgical colour for the Inmaculate Conception, but I suppose it works dofferent with papal stoles.

  10. Gustavo Ráez-Patiño says:

    Sorry, that should read “different”.

  11. Marcin Kukuczka says:

The Holy Father truely entrusts the Church on the famous two pillars (according to Don Bosco’s dream) – the Eucharist and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Remeber Fatima and Virgin’s words: “Finally, my Immaculate Heart will Triumph!” (Fatima, Portugal 1917).

I am glad Josef Ratzinger is our Pope and let us pray for him that he lives for long and defeats the enemy of wolves attacking the Church.
