Question to readers: problems with comments?

I had a note from someone suggesting that there might be a problem on the blog with reading comments.

Anyone having problems?

I can’t see anything wrong.

    Testing…. 1 – 2 – 3.

There is no smoking in the narthex. I repeat. No smoking in the narthex.

    Thank you.

  2. The only trouble I ever have is that the combox resizes wider than the column in which it is contained. that way, it hides maybe the right 10 characters or so. I use IE on the two different computers where I typically view WDTPRS.

I’ve never said anything because, well, um, like priests are unlikely to comment about another priest’s Mass so website owners are reluctant to comment on another site’s design.

The only problem I have with the comments, Father, is when I start to type the box suddenly extends off the edge of the screen and I have to type “blind” until the next line comes back onto the page. I don’t know if I’m alone with this problem or not.

  4. Most problems seem to evolve on IE, rather than the superior Firefox.

The biggest problem I have is that my witty, pertinent and wise comments somehow often get mysteriously changed into something ignorant and irrelevant.

You working on a fix for that?

Thomas, I have that problem with IE 6, but IE 7 on another pc works fine.

  7. It’s an IE world, Father. :)

Checking it on IE7, I concur with Frank– I only see it on lower browsers. I think the problem is in the way that wordpress formats in modules rather than tables. The browser is reading the cols=”100%” code for the input box. My suggestion is to replace the cols=”100%” line with a fixed width. Perhaps cols=”50″.
