Amy’s Michael

I said Mass for Michael Dubruiel today, Amy Wellborn’s husband who died recently.

Many people have helped to create a spiritual bouquet here.

I note on Amy’s blog that arrangements for Michael’s funeral are posted.

Also, she posted his last column.

We will continue to pray for them all, the quick and the dead, in our Christian joy tempered with sorrow at their loss.

    Fr. Z,

Thinking of you in Rome. I was one of those struggling with your slow server yesterday.

I was stunned by the news about Michael, and grateful to see your posts.

And grateful for all the rest of your commentary, as usual.

Hope to see you soon. Bests..

  2. Tricia says:

My children and I are praying for Michael and his family. The Creative Minority Report has set up a fund to help with expenses.
    Such a loss. Tricia

  3. miriam says:

My children and I will pray a rosary for the repose of his soul and for his family. Love and prayers from San Antonio. Miriam

  4. Amelia says:

“Christian joy tempered with sorrow”…That was beautiful and perfectly expressed.

I do not know who this man or his family is but I will certainly offer immediate prayers for all.

  5. irishgirl says:

I remembered Michael in my Rosary this morning in our Adoration chapel.

Yes, Father-that was a perfect expression!

  6. Mila says:

I must remember that beautiful expression, Father. Since I learned about Michael’s passing I have offered my rosaries and Masses for him and for his family. May our merciful Lord watch over them.

  7. J.C. says:

How sad for his family… We will keep them all in our prayers. May God bless his soul–a soul which also bears the indelible mark of the priesthood. Will he be given a priest’s funeral in this situation? Does a Novus Ordo funeral for priests differ from a lay funeral?
