Dorr, MI: TLM announcement, Gregorian workshop, maniple sighting

Fr. Robert Johansen of Thrownback has posted a note about an upcoming TLM at his parish on Laetare Sunday, … this coming Sunday.

There is a good shot of a maniple, btw.

Tie one on, Fathers!

Also, Fr. J asked me to mention a Gregorian chant workshop which is coming up on 28 March in Benton Harbor, MI.

  1. There is a Byzantine chant workshop in Pittsburgh (where else?) on, I believe, March 21. I have the contact info if anyone is interested (both Byzantine Catholics and Orthodox will be attending).

  2. Joe says:

I’m curious what part of which form of the Liturgy this is (in the picture).

  3. Alice says:

That’s the Ecce Agnus Dei (Behold the Lamb of God). It could be either EF or OF since the priest is facing the people and holding up the Blessed Sacrament for all to see.

Maybe it’s just my screen, but my first thought was, “Wearing a maniple does not make it OK to wear BLUE.” :P

  4. Parochus says:

It would appear to be the “Ecce Agnus Dei” before the Communion of the faithful. The more important question is why Father doesn’t seem to be wearing a cassock, which the “Ritus Servandus” of EF requires for the celebration of Mass.
