Now he can hopefully be the Saints he loved so much.
An exemplary and holy priest, a wonderful spiritual writer. After such a long and productive life, may he indeed find his place among the saints.
Apparently it’s too early for an obituary to appear, but here is a short biography from EWTN:http://www.ewtn.com/library/PRIESTS/MYERS.TXT
The obituary for Fr. Myers can be read at http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/gazette/obituary.aspx?n=father-joseph-myers&pid=136604602 for those interested. What it doesn’t say is that Fr.Myers helped to keep the Traditional Latin Mass alive during those turbulent years when it was being suppressed. May he rest in the arms of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Wow-another well-known priest passes from this life!
I think I have one of his books…one he wrote on Our Lady.
May he rest in peace, and one day rise in glory!
haleype is right, Fr. Rawley Myers celebrated the first several TL Masses I attended at St. Mary’s Cathedral in the early 1990’s. He was a good and holy priest, and he’ll be sorely missed.
Here’s an interview with him on the 60th anniversary of his ordination.
Fr. Myers funeral mass will be at 11 AM Mountain time today, that’s an hour and a quarter from now. In your generosity, perhaps you could stop and pray for the repose of his soul at that time.
