Request for help from readers: LCWR “state of the question”

I have received several requests for a succinct summary of what has transpired between the Holy See and the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR – a subsidiary of the Magisterium of Nuns).

It would be good to have such a summary in the form of a brief factual bullet-pointed time line.

Readers: Is there one?  And, if not, shall one be created?

That was interesting, AnnAsher. Thanks for posting that. I were Bishop Sartain, I believe I would retire all present leadership of the LSWR to cloisters. Next, I would deputize my sister (Mother Superior of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia) to appoint from within her order (and the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Ann Arbor) all new leadership for the LCWR. Oh well, a girl can dream.

meant to say “If I were Bishop Sartain”…..

Sissy, do you hate the Ann Arbor OP sisters? ;-)

The only solution to the LCWR is decertification. The rot is too deep and too widespread. Open the whole thing up to a secret ballot of the membership of the “represented” congregations and you will get a decent set of sisters in leadership who love the Church even if they rub against it sometimes.

PhilipNeri: LOL!!! You’re right; I never thought how horrible that would be for those beautiful women! True martyrdom……
