Niiiiice! I love the one about being “too consubstantial with my car.” I want one.
Best. Inthewild. Post. Ever.
I was just gifted a “God Bless Our Bishop” one but I don’t have a vehicle so I am wanting to re-home the sticker with someone who would use it.
HAHAHAHAHA! “kick the devil in the face” That is too funny. I have to get one of those.
@acardnal
I love the one about being “too consubstantial with my car.”
It makes a good point. My car has been “consubstantial” with too many cars.
Put me down for the ‘Haily Mary’ one.
@acardnal, @APX: Consubstantial. I do not think it means what I think you think it means.
Kick the devil in the face is a good, whimsical take on the solemn promise of God that Jesus and Mary would crush the head of satan, though the devil would indeed wound the heel of Our Lord, with Our Lady sharing in the wound in her heart.
“The devil… that proude spirite… cannot endure to be mocked.”- St. Thomas More.
I love that one, and all of them :D
I know what consubstantial means. I was simple using it in the context the bumper sticker was, hence the quotation marks.
“Hail Mary full of grace kick the devil in the face.”
Bwa ha ha! Love it! Must acquire!
I have to have ….”Hail Mary full of Grace…. Kick the devil in the face”
LOL! Completely AWESOME! The back of my dog truck simply cannot compare.
I wish somebody would reprise the “I [heart] my German Shepherd”/Papal flag bumper stickers. I had one on my old truck . . . .
zazzle and cafepress have a number of Catholic bumper stickers including some of the ones on that lady’s van. Although some at those sites I would have a problem with – “Catholics for Obama” for instance.
Probably better to stick with Fr Z’s swag – you can’t go wrong there.
Putting “consubstantial” on a bumper sticker – isn’t that word “too harrd” for most people :-) ?
The site that had the “I [heart] my German Shepherd” / “Pope Benedict XVI” bumper stickers is no more.
The upper half was in black letters on white background, with the heart in red.
Underneath was “Pope Benedict XVI” in a lighter typeface, with the papal arms to the right of the text.
Somebody want to give it a shot? Or does anybody know of a site where you can make your own?
I’d like to see a bumper sticker that said “Consubstantiation is Ineffable”.
Well, my Guardian Angel was poking my soggy brain and after some research, I changed my mind. I really don’t want a bumper sticker that says “Consubstantiation is Ineffable” because consubstantiation is a heresy. Daaahh! Consubstantial = good; Consubstantiation = bad.
So, how about “Transubstantiation is Ineffable”.
I’ll go there with you acardnal ;) I’d buy a “Transubstantiation is Ineffable” bumper sticker!
How about “Transubstantiation is ineffably consubstantial”?
I was listening to some AC/DC the other day while I was driving when a good one hit me for supporting priests- “I’m Backin’ Black”. (I was listening to “Back in Black” and I kept hearing “I’m backin’ black” rather than “I’m back in black.”) I’m tempted to put it on a license plate frame-
Top: “I’m Backin’ Black”
Bottom: “Support Our Priests”
I love that ‘Hail Mary Full Of Grace, Kick The Devil In The Face’ sticker! Me want one of those!
The ‘consubstantial’ one is a riot, too! In creativity, that is…. ; )
How very creative these bumper sticker artists are!
