Anything missing from this otherwise spiffy video?

My big question is: At what point do the cylons show up?

    Answer: The Cylons should have shown up instead of the “random guy stands on summit of mountain” shot. ;)

  2. Elizzabeth says:

    What I REALLY want to know is, was Adam’s mum a monkey? No Catholic evolutionist will answer this question…

    Anything missing from this otherwise spiffy video?

    Me.

  4. Legisperitus says:

    Well, there’s the Incarnation, arguably the most important event in “our story.”

  5. Spaniard says:

    Crucifixion… Resurection… Summorum Pontificum

  6. majuscule says:

    The Creator.

    I hope that’s implied at least!

    @Elizzabeth asked “was Adam’s mum a monkey?”

    Any evolutionist worth his salt would say, of course not, although they would say that there was a common ancestor to both monkeys and humans. A Catholic evolutionist would say that either God used that template to create Adam from scratch with a few modifications and a soul, or he picked an ancestor to humans and added a soul. The theory of evolution continues to evolve (no pun intended) and there currently is no mechanism for macro-evolution (i.e. creation of new species) since the old species cannot breed with the new one and if new species generating mutations did exist they would be rare enough that the new species would never be able to find a mate.

    But regardless, even if you read Genesis as literal history, Genesis only states that God created the universe (Genesis 1:1), the first living creatures (Genesis 1:21), the first humans from preexisting matter (Genesis 1:27). In every other case, God said “let there be”, meaning that he could have just let the universe run on its own with a bit of guidance here and there. In other words, some forms of evolution are entirely compatible with Genesis, and some Church Fathers believed it to be so.

    Heh… you can take the “summit of Creation” out of the science textbook, but apparently the videomakers still believe it….

    And no, there’s nothing in the Bible that says that God does not continue to create and work, or what means He must use to do so.

    What’s missing?

    Well God for one! And well.. any particular truth about origins for a grosteque spectacle of evolutionary nonsense.

    ‘Evolution’ as commonly understood is not compatabile with the Catholic faith. Read Genesis, Vatican I etc. Heck, study actual science and you can see it for the nonsense it is. A bunch of preposterous atheistic musings without any basis in rationale or observable facts.

    Most try to say ‘some form of evolution’ is compatabile, but they really just mean the term loosely to refer to horizontal or downward vertical changes in organisms to speciate within their kinds. Which is all well and good. But that’s not what the atheists mean when they want you to believe in their doctrine.

    But the fantasy that matter magically came into existence which then through chance and random circumstances then non living matter through magic then somehow created living cells whcih then magically gained complexity to become cells, fish, amphibians, mammals, then human beings is utterly hilarious when you understand how the universe and biology actually works.

    Furthermore what’s missing from this lovely video is also the amount of death, bloodshed, suffering and other evolutionary vehicles of violence and sin are necessary to reach where we are today. No, let’s just focus on nice stuff… Then if you assume God did it this way, we can just blame Him for sin and death and violence and suffering all before man arrived on the scene. And then this God incarnated and died for something He started in the first place, right? If you believe in Evolution, then the Passion of our Lord was for what exactly? When the world is to be restored, will there still be death and suffering in the new heavens and new Earth? The further you think about it, the stupider it becomes to kotow our Faith for the fairy tales of atheists.

    Let Scienctists finally prove to us that the Earth rotates around the Sun before it tries peddling any more of this farce to us.

    No wonder people these days get so depressed… they think themselves no better than evolved apes! :P

  11. edwardswyco says:

    Johnno, read Humani Generis – that was enough for me.

    And yes – perhaps a little “shout out” to the builder of Western Civilization, the Church, would have been nice – since the Incarnation and spread of the Gospel was a wee bit significant, dontcha think?

    Christ, the Lord and end of history, was missing.

    This passage sprang to mind. specially the all conquering man on the summit of creation at the end.

    Ps 8:
    4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
    5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
    6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
    7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
    8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
