With the rapid degradation of morals, the overturning of common sense and natural law, and the dissolution of civil rule of law in these USA we are seeing – and this is not a surprise – a rise of open invocation of the Enemy of the Soul.
The spiritual war is becoming more open war. The dupes of the Enemy sense that their time is coming and they are emboldened.
It is time for bishops and priests to get out the older, traditional copies of the Rituale Romanum and consider using its powerful and effective rites, including and especially Title XI, ch. 3. Let’s have processions and public recitation of litanies.
Let’s get back to the traditional ways of making reparation and asking for God’s blessings.
And to prepare… let’s GO TO CONFESSION.
Let’s stop fooling around. Let’s dust off the serious spiritual tools of our Catholic Faith.
I saw this, from Archbp. Coakley of Oklahoma City. HERE
Archbishop Coakley on planned “Black Mass” at Civic Center:
“We are astonished and grieved by this proposed sacrilegious event”
OKLAHOMA CITY (July 1, 2014) –A ticketed “Black Mass” is slated to occur Sept. 21 at the Oklahoma City Civic Center, according to the Civic Center website.
Today, Archbishop Paul Coakley expressed his astonishment and disappointment at this event and called on community leaders to reconsider whether it is an appropriate use of public space.
“For more than 1 billion Catholics worldwide and more than 200,000 Catholics in Oklahoma, the Mass is the most sacred of religious rituals,” the archbishop said. “It is the center of Catholic worship and celebrates Jesus Christ’s redemption of the world by his death and resurrection. In particular, the Eucharist – which we believe to be the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ – is the source and summit of our faith.
“That’s why we’re astonished and grieved that the Civic Center would promote as entertainment and sell tickets for an event that is very transparently a blasphemous mockery of the Mass,” he continued. “The ‘Black Mass’ that is scheduled for the Civic Center in September is a satanic inversion and distortion of the most sacred beliefs not only of Catholics, but of all Christians.
“In a spirit of hope, I ask those who are allowing this event to reconsider whether this is an appropriate use of public space. We trust that community leaders – and, in particular, the board members of the Oklahoma City Civic Center – do not actually wish to enable or encourage such a flagrantly inflammatory event and can surely remedy this situation.
“If the event does move forward, we will have to consider other peaceful, prayerful and respectful options to demonstrate our opposition to this publicly supported sacrilegious act.
“In the meantime, I call on all Catholics in central and western Oklahoma – as well as all men and women of good will – to pray for a renewed sense of the sacred and, in particular, to pray that the Lord might change the hearts and minds of the organizers of this event.”
I do not think that outrage and holy anger need to be restricted to the people of Oklahoma.
Today, on this Feast of the Precious Blood, dear readers, please consider what acts of reparation you might engage in for even the consideration of such an event.
Right you are, Father. Satan plays for keeps. Catholics should not be pulling their punches.
This truly does make me sick to my stomach….I guess too much publicity at Harvard has encouraged such demonic events.
Now – any lawyers here? why can’t something like this be considered a “hate crime” or “bias” incident? I swear I don’t understand why painting on a synagogue or portraying the “prophet” is a hate crime, using the “f**” (rhymes with “hag”) word to describe a homosexual is a bias incident; but holding a “black Mass” is neither. Anyone?
The actions of prominent politicians across the land in harshing on people of religious faith, using regulations to bully them, and inciting anger towards innocent people for just wishing to exercise their rights as citizens has opened the door to what we are seeing here and at the Harvard Extension School. People of good will who even if they are not themselves Catholic, or who are agnostic or of no faith or different faith really need to be willing to stand up to this with courage, now. The courage part comes in because in treating Catholics with respect they will have to defy politicians with significant power who ridicule and incite antagonism towards people of faith, including, sadly, many self-identifying or self-proclaimed “Catholic” politicians, at all levels, federal, state, etc., and they have to have courage to defend others whom they may not choose to live as but for the sake of freedom. If they do not, then it will not be only Christians who will be targeted by this current.
The next time Obama/Pelosi/Hillary/Biden/Cuomo mock and ridicule people who advocate for life for children, or who object to the HHS mandate, or the SCOTUS Hobby Lobby decision, I should like to see how they would respond if a mainstream journalist or interviewer or focus group attendee asks them what they make of this trend of “Black Mass” orchestration in the U.S. — I really wonder, based on so many public remarks they have made over the past several years, whether they would just smile and say “Go, Team!” Would any of them pick up the phone to notify the ACLU?
There is a name for what “our” civil servants are doing towards Catholics, even as many of us delivered the vote, many Bishops and parishes, Catholic universities, for their glory: “scapegoating”.
Here’s the trouble: the U.S. system has been rigged against Catholicism from the start. It’s taken a couple centuries for the time bomb to go off, but the principle of pluralism, according to which all religions or “spiritualities” must be treated as equal, is fundamentally incompatible with the nature of Christian Revelation.
In reality, if something is true, its contrary must be false.
But if all beliefs are seen as equally true, then all are equally false; none is true. And the State owes no duty to falsehood. Therefore, the liberty of God’s Church is never secure and is only respected as long as it remains convenient for the State to do so. Meanwhile, Satan claims the same rights as God and the State duly gives them to him.
With all the terrible tornadoes that hit this state, it is more than a little foolish to tempt God this way. We’ve lost our minds (and souls.) God have mercy!

How about a Church-wide ban, starting right now, on Holy Communion in the hand and other Eucharistic abuses?
Surround the place with the rosary. Not just the night of, do it in the weeks leading up to the event.
FILL that very same room with Eucharistic Adoration in the weeks ahead.
I think Friarpark has a great idea: a prayer chain of men and women saying the rosary.
I also think its disgusting that there’s sufficient interest in a Black Mass to generate these plans.
Pray for these people.
A little more information — this will be the fourth time they have done this. The venue seats 92 people, and in the past attendance has not exceeded 50.
I am amazed that few people apart from Fr Z have actually pointed out that what these people are doing is out-and-out dangerous. Deliberately invoke evil, and nobody ought to be surprised if evil responds. And the person suggesting surrounding the place with the rosary is definitely on the right lines. If I thought this was just stupidity and deliberate provocation, then I would be tempted to say “let them get on with it, we don’t pay attention to noisy toddlers”. But it isn’t.
What’s the matter guys?
Don’t you believe in Religious Freedom?
Should not our blessed Conscience be allowed to exercise itself in whatever manifestation it might happen to take to heart?
How about a little more ecumenism and a little less outrage, hmmm? We are not acting very nice… and since the gates of hell will not prevail then, what-we-worry, if the devils come outside for a picnic every now and then?
“The spiritual war is becoming more open war. The dupes of the Enemy sense that their time is coming and they are emboldened.”
Chilling. Who can be blamed for coming to wonder if indeed the end of days approaches.
How about going inside and engaging in peaceful civil disobedience? And if they use a consecrated host, one should take it back as it belongs to the Church.
Excepting those on the Board of Directors for the Civic Center identified as ‘community volunteer’, in the past hour I have contact information for 14 of the 21 members. As email to, for instance, a bank’s president, or the COO of a hospital seems too broad and ephemeral, I am falling back on snail mail. I do not want to post the addresses here; I could be wrong on some of them. But it was easy enough to find addresses. If one wished to telephone Oklahoma, the businesses all have numbers listed, and I suppose wading in might elicit some help. I’ll let you know. The website for the blackmasser’s is very, very creepy. Their name is listed under events.
Oh, irony. At the creepy website they mutter about being free to be animals, but for the ‘performance’, certain things will be left out, for legal reasons.
jlong: if they use a consecrated host, it’s only because someone handed it to them, in their hand, in a communion line somewhere.
One more reason, if any are really needed, for stopping the abominable practice of ‘communion in the hand’. It was suppressed in ancient times because of the threat of profanation. Sinful man hasn’t changed in the centuries since. If even ONE host is profaned, it’s one too many.
Less than 2 hours after +Benedict’s Mass in NYC a few years ago, people were ostensibly offering ‘communion bread’ from his Mass on eBay.
You play with fire, you get burned. Rosary crusade outside this venue, if it goes off, is what’s needed.
Hank, 92 people is 92 too many.
This is a good opportunity make some converts. Protestants might begin to wonder if they are worshipping God the way He intended to be worshipped. Short Q and A session.
Q: Why don’t the Satanists attack or mimic any of the Protestant religions?
A: The Satanists KNOW where the true presence of Christ is; at the Mass and in the host. The Satanists look for consecrated hosts, the real body and blood of Christ, not some cookie/wafer/macaroon/……. This is why they mimic the Mass of all time and search for hosts to desecrate. These things that the Satanists and the devil hate, can only be found in the Catholic Church.
Dawn Eden writes that the sponsor of the Black Mass in Oklahoma is a registered sex offender. She gives advice here on how to take action: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/feastofeden/2014/07/how-to-stop-the-black-mass-for-now/
Hank, what else do you know about it?
The Enemy is most insidious. My inclination would be towards prayer and then open if not aggressive confrontation. As it is, I would be inclined to be there with a rosary most definitely trying to restrain the US Marine in me against violence. Perhaps better off it’s far away (for now) and I’ll add my intentions to the intercession of Our Lady before the Blessed Sacrament.
Legisperitus – I would disagree on your interpretation of the premises, so obviously your conclusion.
The core principle of the 1st Amendment’s establishment clause was to prohibit an official Church of the United States. No more, no less. The Founders would certainly not have countenanced the imposition of Muslim or Satanic equivalence being forced on an overwhelming nominally Christian majority (especially since it’s almost, if not entirely on the mockery level of Christianity rather than an actual belief system of it’s own) on the same level as Christian worship. The only thing more tyrannical than the tyranny of the majority is the tyranny of a tiny minority.
If anything, the US system was originally designed to be deliberately de-centralized with local control. It’s only in the last century that the Federal government has been increasingly centralized. Even after the Civil War, everything was quite deliberately de-centralized until Wilson and FDR especially ratcheted it up. Unfortunately some otherwise good President’s also encouraged this centralization on flimsy Constitutional grounds, which further eroded the protections (the Interstate highway system is an excellent example of such. It had been thought up prior to the 1950’s but rejected since there was no explicit enumeration authorizing the Federal government to do it and until the New Deal noone would have seriously given merit to twisted interpretations of the Commerce or General Welfare Clauses to that end. Eisenhower admin used defense arguments, in fact, which is even sillier).
Dear Johnno,
around here (where the word “liberal” does not mean leftist but “on the side of freedom”), we have the saying that “we’re liberal but stupid”.
Religious freedom does not give the right to blasphemy. In addition, there is a difference between human error, which is likely for the usual false religions (they adhere to them because they think they are true), and Satanism which, I had thought, means deliberately choosing evil over good.
This same group is also planning a statue of a seated Satan at the state capitol grounds.
Due to the court rulings that allows a statue of the Ten Commandments it will be legal as long as the Satanist pay for it.
Gail F, I don’t know much. The New Advent site (where I find Father Z,) had an article on it at the top of the screen this morning. The Civic Center receives state and federal funds, and so is required to rent space to any law abiding group. We had a center like that where I used to live, and they’d get all kinds of loopy organizations through. And some pretty cool ones. You could go there for ballroom dancing.
Uxixu, I’m not sure that’s much less rigged against Catholicism, when you consider the Know-Nothings, “Irish need not apply”, and the simple fact that the US bishops have spent two centuries promoting equal religious freedom in this country at least partly out of a desire that Catholics not be treated like second-class citizens…

And the same American bishops quite literally tarred and feathered with actual tar and feathers the very first ever papal nuncio to visit the United States simply for the fact that he represented the Pope. The American hierarchy has a dirty beginning. What begins in error…
