Run that Sheriff for President in 2016!
I like this guy, too. He is the same sheriff who saw nothing wrong with citizens having guns to protect themselves because by the time the police arrived at the crime scene, it may be too late.
Somebody make this guy the President AND Pope!!
“He is the same sheriff who saw nothing wrong with citizens having guns to protect themselves because by the time the police arrived at the crime scene, it may be too late.”
It appears that some people in/near Ferguson took that advice… here are a couple of stories about armed citizens who volunteered to protect businesses from looters:
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/11/29/Black-Ferguson-Residents-Armed-With-AR-15s-Save-White-Owned-Business
http://bearingarms.com/guardians-police-failed-ferguson-two-different-militias-kept-peace/
I think these stories have an important lesson for all of us who are concerned about preparing for disaster, chastisement or whatever… one way to prepare is to get to know your neighbors, take an interest in their welfare, prove yourself trustworthy and honest, and practice the virtues of charity, justice, mercy, etc. toward them now; then, if and when the SHTF, they will “have your back” and you will have theirs.
Also, I think what is/was happening in Ferguson and around the country right now is yet more evidence that chastisement for our sins comes not in the form of fire and brimstone and lightning bolts, but in the consequences of the bad leadership that rises to the fore when citizens no longer value life, liberty, the sanctity of the family, or even basic honesty, care only about themselves and their immediate wants, and elect those who tell them only what they want to hear. Who needs fire and brimstone when you have a president who drones on about “understandable” anger while cities burn — and who MAY have actually ordered Mo. Gov. Nixon to keep the National Guard away from the most vulnerable areas of Ferguson when the rioting started? Who needs lightning bolts when we have Al Sharpton and other professional race-baiters? Who needs plagues and famine when we have mobs out harassing Christmas shoppers, blocking traffic and badgering children to the point of tears in the name of “justice”?
Paul Harvey got it right!
