neat!
That’s beautiful!
Sadly, it contains quite a few of errors. For example, it shows Germany conquering the Ukraine in 1906.
But it still gives a great sense of European history.
And poor Poland always getting clobbered. I see Napoleon.
I like the winking of the city states that became Germany.
Here’s the History of the World: Every Year.

Fascinating. Europe nearly became the north-west part of the Ottoman Empire. And the related video referred to by Scout shows how the Mongols conquered nearly the whole of the Eurasian continent. Only the “divine wind” kept them out of Japan, and I dare say, the Holy Spirit kept them from Europe.
It often frustrates me that I can’t keep track of more than a few major time periods of European history, and almost nothing of Eastern European history. This map at least makes me feel a bit better about that. So much going on.
Not quite accurate regarding Sweden. Poor Poland!
indeed – Poor Poland! I didn’t see Crimea change back to Russia at the end (or Eastern Ukraine)
Poland is blessed beyond words and also cursed, at the crossroads and with some of the most fertile land anywhere. Hence the chronic trampling.
Interesting but its also quite out of line with most of Europe being German after 1945 until about 1952. That’s a bit of a clanger to be honest.
The clock is offset a little, that’s all.
Now you see it, now you don’t! No wonder my Polish ancestors jumped ship! Very interesting.
This illustrates well that Italian history after the fall of Rome is a nightmare.
Neat and ominous. What/by whom is the music?
