Among other things, an ad orientem sung Mass in Latin in the OF!
We have been praying the Novena to Our Lady of Fatima.
Friday night we had a special Mass for Our Lady of Fatima, followed by a rosary procession around the church property. It was supposed to be a candlelight procession but it was pretty windy so many candles would not stay lit and it wasn’t dark yet–but it was very fine! We have many Portuguese in our parish and there is already a devotion to Our Lady of Fatima with a festa in October. So our statue and bearers were ready to go. Although the Mass was in English the ladies choir sang Portuguese hymns. Our Nigerian priest wore Marian vestments and used lots of incense. The Mass was very well attended by people in our diverse community.
Saturday we will recite the rosary outside in front of the church and our parish will be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! (We are told it will be a “solemn” rosary. Does anyone know if that differs from just saying the rosary?)
Solemn High Mass at SS. Peter and Paul’s Church, Cork City. Blessing of religious articles, medals, rosaries, statues and pictures. There will also be a May procession.
I forgot to add that the Mass will start at 10.30am.
In our parish there will be a rosary said before Our Lady of Fatima Mass at 11 am today.
sadly I live in a liturgical wasteland so there will be no official ceremonies, however I would ask readers to pray for me as I am finishing St Louis De Monfort’s total consecration to Jesus through Mary today.
There was a special Mass at our school Thursday, which ended with a procession of our nearly 500 students outside to our Lady of Fatima statue for a May crowning.
Our Moms group has decided to read 33 Days to Morning Glory together in September and consecrate ourselves to the Blessed Mother on one of her special days in October.
Mass followed by rosary at my parish. Several Masses around town.
Finishing St. Louis de Monfort’s total consecration.
My parish is Our Lady of Fatima, so it was a grand event. I attended rosary procession through the streets yesterday evening, plus a smaller procession around the church today after Mass.
Our parish, St. William the Confessor in Greenville, TX will have a candle lit Rosary procession in honor of Our Lady of Fatima from 9-10 PM, then Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Compline/Night Prayer and Benediction. Of course this has been happening every night for the past 4 years in preparation for the Centennial and will continue until October 13th. The Rosary is prayed in English and Spanish.
My pretty liberal Catholic school is having a solemn high mass in the Catholic studies centre!
I am also finishing my consecration to Mary today, so I will tie my prayers with all of you finishing your consecration as well.
Nothing going on around here, but we only have one, very-overworked priest. We went to Mass at a neighboring parish today.
Our parish is meeting every 13th starting tonight (from May until October) for a short reflection on the events of that particular day 100 years ago, a rosary, and a candlelight procession.
It’ll be quite the shebang. :)
Kudos to Fr. Cyprian LaPastina for having a traditional Mass today May 13 in honor of Our Lady of Fatima at St. Mary’s in Greenwich, Conn.
We had a procession through the town with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, with Rosary en route, followed by Mass at 3pm in the local Dominican church, where the Fatima Novena commenced yesterday evening. There was a good turnout, particularly of young Dominicans in cappa magna. The weather, this being Ireland, was quite good too!
We started on May 13th with a May crowning of Mary, we repeated the crowning on Mothers day.
We are planning a rosary procession for October 13th that will go between the two Catholic churches in our town.
We have also printed small cards with a bouquet of flowers on it, we have asked that parishioners fill out a card with the date on it for every rosary they pray and offer for the intentions of Our Lady of Fatima. Those cards will be added at a bouquet of rosaries for Our Blessed Mother can carried in the procession.
In Burlington, Vt., we had a High Mass, followed by a Marian procession around the block, with the Litany of Loreto and the Rosary in Latin.

The Ladies’ Sodality in my parish had their annual Ladies’ Breakfast, served by yours truly, the Knights of Columbus of the parish. The speaker was an SOLT sister who teaches at a local school. She gave a wonderful talk on Our Lady of Fatima, explained the apparitions and the miracles, mentioned the indulgences available, and encouraged us all to pray the Rosary piously. The breakfast was attended by over 100 ladies. We served bacon, eggs, hash browns, croissants and pastries, and orange juice and coffee. Our pastor complimented us on the expertly-cooked bacon, and many ladies thanked us for our faithful service.
There is now a statue of Our Lady of Fatima installed in the sanctuary, just in front of the ambo. There are two large vases full of full blooming white roses in front. Our pastor exhorted us to pray the Rosary daily (he said, on Sunday the 14th, “You can catch up today with two Rosaries”) and I expect that the image will remain in its place for the entire centennial year.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us! Saints Jacinta and Francisco, pray for us! Servant of God Lucia Santos, pray for us!
