Absolutely. God be with you all every step of the way and back home again. I’m looking forward to photos!
Have a blessed and safe trip. May your pilgrimage bring enlightenment to all that participate. Thank you for your prayers Father.
I don’t know what the rules are (if any) for participating in a pilgrimage in spirit, but I’m willing to bet you’ll have a goodly crowd of associate pilgrims praying for and with you throughout this trip.
How I wish I could be there. My prayers will be, though. May you all have a wonderful experience.
That is wonderful. I just returned. Life changing. Prayers for you all.
Out of interest, would attending this pilgrimage satisfy the requirements of EOHSJ members to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land? (And thereby obtaining the pilgrims shell?)
[Yes, I’m sure it would. However, I believe you have to alert them to the fact.]

Safe travels. I’d pack an item of clothing safe against slashing attacks…just saying.
SPWang: I just returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. As part of our pilgrimage, we visited the Patriarchate and received our pilgrim shells from Archbishop Pizzaballa. Call your Lieutenancy and tell them when you will be there. Your guide should be able to arrange a visit.
Prayers for all for a blessed pilgrimage to the Holy Land. A truly wonderful experience of a lifetime.
From The Itinerary or Office Before A Journey:
Into the way of peace and prosperity direct us, O almighty and merciful God; and may the Angel Raphael accompany us in the way, and may we return in peace, health and joy unto our own home.
…
O God, who didst cause the children of Israel to pass dry-shod through the midst of the sea, and who didst manifest the way to Thee for the three wise men by the leading of a star: grant us, we beseech Thee, a prosperous journey and a peaceful time, that, with Thy holy Angel as companion, we may be able happily to arrive at the place we seek, and at length reach the haven of eternal salvation.
Semper Gumby,
Beautiful prayers for a safe and peaceful journey.
We had our first Mass here, at the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
I brought a lot of you along.
Fr_Sotelo: Indeed Father. A bit more:
O God, who didst keep safe Thy servant Abraham, led forth from Ur of the Chaldees, in all his journeyings: we beseech Thee that Thou wouldst vouchsafe to keep us Thy servants: be to us, O Lord, our solace in the way, our shelter in heat, our covering amid rain and cold, our conveyance when tired, our shield in adversity, our support when we slip, our haven in shipwreck; so that, with Thee as our guide, we may arrive safely at our journey’s end, and at length return unharmed to our own home.
Fr. Z: And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.
