St. Mary Broadway (FSSP) Providence RI. The ascension glorifies our Lord as He takes His place at the right hand of the Father. But in doing so it also glorifies Man as Jesus is now present with the Father in his incarnate body.

I attended in person Novus Ordo Mass and the homily was a barn-burner praising the Minnesota Bishops and that this is the witness needed for the New Evangelization. This is exactly the thing I see so clearly in this situation–the Mass has been treated by bishops as inessential to the Faithful and that is a SCANDAL. The MN Bishops did a pretty good job witnessing to just how important the Mass is. They shine brightly in a time when others have done a poorer job of messaging to the public. The Mass is NOT MERELY “the central experience of Catholicism” it is something far more than that and of essential importance to every human person.

I am very disappointed at clergy delaying opening to 25% when the civil authorities say we can and I think it is a scandal in the sense that it is most likely communicating to many people that the Holy Sacrifice and the Bread of Eternal Life are really not that essential.
