Remember when everyone hated Salvini for mounting crucifixes in the immigration and detention center offices? I am sure this time the Vatican and Italian bishops will change their tune. After all how could you want the faithful to see Mary as the Solace of Migrants and yet be against the public portrayal of her as such?
Save room for these….
Mater doloribus obnoxii catholici = Mother of the Suffering Catholics
Neglecta mater est = Mother of the Ignored
Mater irata = Mother of the Exasperated
I’ve heard the first two added in before during recitations. I’m sticking with what’s in my missal, so *shrug*
Chill. Keep in mind that over the centuries lines have been added and lines have been removed. There were 15 titles dropped at one time or another, such as Our Lady of Humility, Gate of Redemption. In fact Mother of Mercy was there at one time and then dropped and is now back in. Mother of the Church was added by JP II.
Hello. Here in Vegas, about 20 of us have been praying a Virtual Rosary and Litany of Loreto together since March 16. I host it on Zoom with a Powerpoint of the prayers. That Litany has gone through so many edits just to keep it on a single slide. If any new Titles are added after these, it’s going to page 2! Thanks @ArsAstronautica for the explanation of what happened with “Mother of Mercy.” That’s actually what I was planning to ask Fr. Z in the comments because we prayed the new version yesterday and threw everyone for a loop because Mother of Mercy was in two places. Now I know which one to delete in good conscience. :)
God bless you all!
What about “Mother of priests”? I would like that one
I would go for “Queen of the Clergy” or “Queen of Priests”
On the other hand a priest friend wrote:
“Coming soon…
Queen of climatologists
Vanquisher of carbon emissions
Protectress against homophobes”

Would it still be possible to obtain the partial indulgence that is conceded to the Catholic who “litanias adprobatas pie recitaverit” (Ench. Ind. 22) when using an older book that doesn’t contain the newest additions?
At least two of us are awaiting the addition of Cunctarum Hæresium Interemptrix.
Perhaps “Defence against Promethean Neo-pelagianists”, could be one! On the serious note, I think my recitation of the litany is going to remain the same, although “Mother of mercy” and “Mother of hope” are acceptable.
