Father Dana Christensen is also asking for prayers:

”It was on this day, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament that Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen passed to eternity. Please, in your kindness, pray this prayer for my healing.

Eternal Father, You alone grant us every blessing in Heaven and on earth, through the redemptive mission of Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, and by the working of the Holy Spirit. If it be according to Your Will, glorify Your servant, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, by granting the favor I now request through his prayerful intercession (mention your request here – [the swift, complete and lasting healing of Fr. Christensen’s ALS]). I make this prayer confidently through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen

The splendid things I’ve never even heard of, before – thank you for this latest!

My ‘initial homework’ finds this is one of the many fountains designed in 1927 by Pietro Lombardi (1894-1984) for the various ‘rioni’ – this one for Sant’Eustachio – and, indeed, I can see the inscription including ‘EVSTACCHIO’ in the stauros of a calligraphic cross between the antlers of the deer as image of the one who appeared to St. Eustace in a call to conversion and baptism. Elsewhere I read of the restoration of the fountain by a writer otherwise unknown to me honoring her parents, as inscribed above. Tantalizingly, I have not yet found anything about the ‘four ancient books’ other than that they probably have reference to the nearby Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza (lit. ‘Saint Ivo at the Sapienza (University of Rome)’).
