Meanwhile, white to move and mate in 2. win. [Sorry, I mislabeled it or got the wrong puzzle or something.]
NB: I’ll hold comments with solutions ’till the next day so there won’t be “spoilers” for others.

There is no mate in 2 here? 1. Rc7 Rxc7 2. Rxc7 Qxc7
What am I missing?
Feast of our Lady of Czestochowa
Padre, there is no mate in two in that puzzle. I’d go a little lite on the grappa while you’re over there.
Meanwhile, here’s the first verse of a great poem:
Happy feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa!
Lady and Queen and mystery manifold,
And very regent of the untroubled sky
Whom in a dream Saint Hilda did behold
And heard a woodland music passing by.
You shall receive me when the clouds are high with evening,
and the sheep attain the fold.
This is the Faith that I have held, and hold,
And this is that in which I mean to die.
–Ballade to our Lady of Czestochowa, first verse, Hilaire Belloc
Did anyone come up with this? The way I see it, there is no way white wine in two moves.
My apologies… I posted the WRONG PUZZLE.
Sometimes life is complicated.
Still, there is merit in looking at the best options for white.
I agree that the best path forward seems to be
1. Rc7 Rxc7 2. Rxc7 Qxc7
Now black’s queen seems pinned to that g7 pawn. If she moves off of 7 to avoid capture or try for counterplay, it’s say 2. … Qb5 then 3. Rxg7+ Kf8 4. Qa3+ etc.
