My good friend Fr. Jason Charron, a Ukrainian Catholic priest in the Pittsburg area asked if I would let you know about this. It is my pleasure to do so.
The theme is connected to a beautiful project to build a Shrine to our Blessed Mother for a movement of repentance, reparation, restoration and revival of a culture of life in our nation.
I’ve seen the plans for the Shrine and heard to story of its genesis. I’ve been to the site where it is projected to be built and it is impressive. I’ve been to Father’s parish for Divine Liturgy (an pirogi) and have enjoyed cigars with Matt Fradd. This should be a great event.
Would love to go. Hoping to win the lottery, will build this shrine!
This week is the largest lottery in Canadian history. Alright St Therese, let’s get to work! We’ve got a Shrine to Our Lady to build.

Would such a Liturgy meet the obligation for Sunday Mass?
Chuck obligation
Thanks for asking! Yes! It certainly would. It is Mass (Easterners say “Divine Liturgy”) in a Catholic rite. You can fulfill your obligation by attended the liturgies of Catholic Eastern Churches such as Ukrainian and Maronite and Ruthenium, etc.
Dear Father, as a Pittsburgher, I must in charity correct you in the spelling of our fair(ish) city’s name. The “h” was formalized in 1911 after much controversy, and is known as “Pittsburgh” (in part because of Scottish background of John Forbes, who named it after William Pitt the Elder.) That being said, I’m going to try to make the Oktoberfest!
Thanks for the invite, Father. For what it’s worth, Pittsburgh is spelled with a final H.
