Look at these poor backwardists, kneeling to receive Communion. Don’t they understand that there would be bishops in these USA who know better?!? At least there’s no terrible Communion rail!

There are also no pews. I wonder what attitudes would change if the pews were taken out to match the altar rails being taken out? IDK, if we are concerned about the altar rail being a barrier, well the pews, of which there are many rows, are a considerably more formidable barrier.
Without questioning anyone’s beliefs, it is beyond any explanation that one who finds kneeling to receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist an issue then sincerely believes in The Real Presence. Sorry, but it cannot be reconciled.
Sorry had to edit. This subject makes me angry.
Another great work of art is The Last Communion of St. Mary of Egypt by Marcantonio Franceschini.
Kneeling, receiving on the tongue, cherubs stretching out the linen to form an altar, etc. Just goes to show that even in the 1700s these were considered traditional practices, especially considering the artwork of the period was devoted to painting historical subjects.
These Bishops say, “We must stamp out any hint of traditional religious practice. Well, except for the ‘Obey your Bishop’ part. We’ll keep that.”
