In the Vetus Ordo, it’s the 5th Sunday after Epiphany. In the Novus Ordo, it is the 5th Sunday in Ordinary (Ordered) Time. Green vestments for one more Sunday in the Vetus Ordo.
Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Sunday Mass of obligation?
Share the good stuff. Quite a few people are forced to sit through really bad preaching. Even though you can usually find – if you are willing to try – at least one good point in a really bad sermon, that can be a trial. So… SHARE THE GOOD STUFF which you were fortunate enough to receive!
Tell about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass. I hear that it is growing. Of COURSE.
Any local changes or (hopefully good) news? We really need good news.
I have some thoughts posted at One Peter Five.

“Put on the bowels of mercies”. That sounds great. So great does it sound to modern ears that most contemporary translations choose “heart of compassion”, or some such. The Greek σπλάγχνα (splágchna) means the viscera: intestines, lungs, other internal organs. We get our word “spleen” from the Greek.

I preached on personal sanctification. Many times we see this Gospel relating the the apostates and heretics in the Church and there are many. But it’s also about our personal sins, faults and failures. We must strive to overcome them with the power of grace and frequenting the sacraments.
I attend the FSSP Corpus Christi Chapel in Naples, FL.
On 2/9/25, while visiting my daughter’s home in Rockford, MI I attended Mass at Our Lady of Consolation. I have attended Mass there while visiting for the last 4 years. Father has s-l-ow-ly brought sacredness to the Mass. it was totally NO 4 yrs ago. He had a prie dieu at one isle just over a year ago. Now there are two sets of wider prie dieu in front of the altar stairs.
Incense is at both Sunday Masses. Sanctus bells. The altar is initially blessed. The Gospel reading is incensed. The wine and bread is incensed.
Kyrie is sung in Latin.
I always speak to Father afterwards for being a shepherd to his flock and bringing reverence back to Our Lord.o continually pray for him.
