There’s movement on the WHITE VESTMENT RESTORATION PROJECT to which some of you made generous contributions.
To recap, The Parish™ is in possession of stupendous but now delicate and compromised white and gold vestments for Solemn Mass. It had been long desired to restore them for use, but the money was lacking. Some of YOU stepped up. We had to raise the funds to cover the work and the IVA before the specialist (in Genova) would take up the task. There is now movement now that his calendar is cleared. The vestments have been delivered and the work has started. It has, so far, been hard to get any photos. I hope that will change. Here are a few pics of the precious things being moved and examined.
In the first one, you can see on the far vestment case RED chalice veils for vestments set out for priests’ Masses that, again, some of YOU, provided! It’s quite a sight to see all the side altars with priests with matching red and gold.

It’ll take a while, but it is happening.
From the past… no… now anywhere the TLM is sung.
I hope this convent survives!
In this abbey in France, nuns have been restoring old books for over 70 years.
The Benedictine sisters of Maumont Abbey run a full workshop and their craft is bookbinding, gilding and restoration. Centuries-old books arrive damaged, torn and crumbling, and they restore them all by hand to last another hundred years.
