My good friend Michael Mazza, a hero canonist and also civil lawyer who defends priests, posted at Catholic World Report about a judicial decision from the Roman Rot a which roundly condemned the practice of publishing lists of “credibly accused” clerics. The Rota is the rough equivalent of the Catholic Church’s Supreme Court in such matters. Mazza is an expert on, inter alia, the right we have to a good reputation. This is a longish and dense piece, but worth reading. It is highly instructive.
If you are a priest or seminarian, this is your immediate homework.
