Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

Finally, I still have a pressing personal petition.

For my husband’s health: That his cancer not spread.
For my eye: Have been having recurring trouble with it for a while and now my “specialist” is sending me to his recommended specialist. Seeing blurry and I hope I don’t lost my eyesight.

Am praying for your intention, Father.

    Thank you all

Some who have been in my heart and prayers lately:
The relatives and friends of the children and teachers tho died at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut on Dec 14 last year.
The Christians who are persecuted, especially in Muslim lands, especially Syria, especially the bishop and nuns who were abducted.

Folks, you haven’t seen me on the blog for a few weeks because I’ve been in the hospital. Pneumonia complicated by fluid in the lining surrounding the lung. The fluid was THE problem! They couldn’t drain it all so ended up having surgery on Dec. 2. Recovered quickly and was discharged on Dec. 6. Recovering at home now. Please pray for a speedy return to normalcy. Thank you.

  5. RafqasRoad says:

    Firstly,

I give thanks to god that our move to the South Coast occurred without catastrophe e.g. we have a working stove, hot water, electricity and the house is sound. I give thanks that after over a week of mucking about with offshore (largely unable to help) call-centres, we were able to have a technitian make a home visit and sort out our non-existant internet and email (though only after a second attempt as the first tech was incorrectly sent to our old address 200km away).

    Urgent prayers

For the conversion to Catholic Christianity, away from militant atheism, of:

my brother S. and his wife K., the baptism of my nieces S. (aged 4 next January) and L. (aged 2), my father N., my step mother S., my husband L., (Lapsed Catholic who drank the hippy cool-aid of the 1960’s along with the rest of his family who see Christianity, especially Biblical Christianity and Catholic Christianity in particular as the problem, rather than the solution), my dog-guide trainer A., that he come to faith (catholic in particular) (atheist of the Dawkins kamp who sees inconsistent dissatisfactory holes in Biblical Christianity especially Catholic Christianity – making appeals to Holy Scripture and Tradition do not hold water, nor experiential witness etc…natural law…nada).

And please pray that my guide dog A.,’s severe dog distraction that I have battled with for the nearly four years that I have had him can be supernaturally resolved; the instructor has assured me it is not my doing or due to a fault in my guide dog handling, but a part of his personality that should have had him screened out in the first place. I am the second person to work with him; he went out to another person with vision impairment prior to me who sent him back. he’s a great guide, but all of this is for naught when he goes little dogs at lightening speed. We’re working with the ‘Gentle leader’ instead of the collar (for a guide dog user holds the handle of the harness and lead in the same hand), but…the instructor has suggested that if he were in my position, he’d put in a request for a withdrawal of dog and allocation of a new dog WITHOUT the trait of extreme self interest or this very dangerous to traveller flaw.

It is St. Lucy’s day here; I am going to mass later this morning and will petition her for help.

    St. Lucy, pray for us,
St. Rocco (excuse spelling) pray for us,
    St. Hubert, pray for us
St. Francis of Assissi, pray for us.

I will uphold you all in prayer during Adoration prior to mass. Pray I can receive on the tongue without mucking up as I did last Sunday with the EMCH who served me (too many teeth on my part…ooops!!…

    Blessings,

    South Coast Catholic.

  6. discipulus says:

For an opportunity to go to Confession soon, and that I may find employment sooner than later. (I take classes at odd hours next spring, so that could be hard)

Here is an update on the situation i have been posting about from time to time here.Am asking for prayer to Bishop Fulton J Sheen.Yes, you can pray to him privately(publicly if he is canonized). This one requires a miracle but and it seems your prayers are being heard.PLS be persistent in your prayers.Again i am going to remove the names of the people because i do not have permission to put them in public.
    Rec’d from his aunt;
“Finally I have some good news to share, thanks be to God! And thanks to all who are praying for him.

First,—— didn’t go home as expected the day before Thanksgiving. The home health care agency was supposed to attend a meeting at the hospital on the Tuesday before to discuss the kind of care he requires. He still needs a vent to breathe. They were a no show. Never even called. The social worker at the hospital finally got in touch with them and was told that they decided the level of care is too high so they don’t want to take him as a patient. That put them back an entire week from discharge.

In the meantime the parents requested a consultation and second opinion from ———– All of his records and scans were sent to them and their pediatric neuro-oncologist went to St.—— to see ——-. The radiation oncologist was sent everything for his review and yesterday there was a meeting with the oncology staff from ——— and the parents. The wonderful news is that he feels that he can treat this tumor with radiation and that there will not be a great deal of risk to ——- in doing so. I have no idea how this went from Hospice and no hope to it now being treatable but I am elated and ever so grateful to the good Lord for this chance. They did tell the parents it might not provide a cure. But everyone’s opinion is at this point, it’s definitely worth trying.
Tomorrow ——- will go for all new scans and Monday, Dec. 16th, they hope to begin radiation. Please pray that the new scans don’t show anything that could possibly put a halt to the radiation. Thanks,———–

Oh and he was released from St. ——— to home on Wed. Dec. 4th. He has round the clock home health care nurses taking care of him.

    God bless,
    ————–
Here is a prayer to Bishop Sheen you can use:

Pls say this prayer for a special request for a very dire situation.Thank you! Prayer to Obtain a Favor Through the Intercession of Archbishop Sheen

    (For Private Use Only)

Eternal Father, You alone grant us every blessing in Heaven and on earth, through the redemptive mission of Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, by the working of the Holy Spirit. In every age, You raise up men and women outstanding in holiness, whose faithful service has contributed significantly to the mission of the Church. In this very way, You used the life and work of Your servant, Archbishop Fulton John Sheen. He inspired great numbers of Catholics and other people of good will to grow in virtue and lead lives pleasing to You and of service to their brothers and sisters in need. He encouraged them to embrace the ‘Gospel of Life’ by recognizing that in all its circumstances, ‘Life is worth living.’

If it be according to Your Will, Eternal Father, glorify Your servant, Archbishop Fulton John Sheen, by granting the favor I now request through his prayerful intercession (mention your request here). I make this prayer confidently in Jesus’ Name, through the merits of His Passion, Death and Resurrection.

    Amen.

For an opportunity to go to Confession soon,

this may work for you. A suggestion. I have menneire’s disease and take communion at home.If there is any reason getting to confession is that difficult for you, call the rectory and ask the priest if he could come to see you at home to hear your confession. If there really are that many obstacles and they can’t.(key word being can’t) be overcome he will probably be glad to.Other than that the best thing to do is JUST do.
Praying for the atheists in Rafqas Road’s request. Also,Fr Robert Spitzer has some excellent talks on the existence of God.If they can put down the Kool Aid for a min he has some you tube videos that are excellent. Might be right up their alley. I would hate to be an atheist and have to debate Fr Spitzer. Just sayin.

  10. Ellen says:

Pray for my children. Both have been divorced lately and neither go to church. Pray for me. I work full time and also take care of my 92 year old father who has dementia. I am often very lonely.

  11. OrthodoxChick says:

Praying for all of you here, and certainly, our dear Fr. Z. as well.

Please continue to keep baby “I” in your prayers. Also please keep my father in your prayers. Last night, he was found to have developed congestive heart failure. That’s on top of the aortic stenosis and Afib that he had been previously diagnosed with. He’s at Mass General Hosp. and will remain there for some time.

  12. Marchelli says:

For my friend who was hit by a car while walking home from the library. She is currently in a comma in ICU and the doctors have told us that she will probably have brain damage when she wakes up. Please pray that she may make a full recovery, against the odds currently given to us.

  13. Mariana2 says:

Happy to pray for all of the above, and Father Z.

  14. VexillaRegis says:

Praying for all of your intentions above, dear friends! Thank you for praying for me, my health problem seems to have vanished :-).

  15. AnAmericanMother says:

    Prayers for everyone’s intentions!
If you would, please pray for the repose of the soul of my father, who passed away recently – for my mother who is suffering from a particularly virulent form of cancer for which she has undergone 16 weeks of chemotherapy and will return to M.D. Anderson in January for surgery – and for my husband who is suffering from leukemia and has had surgery for an abscess in his foot, which is not healing as quickly as we would like.

  16. StWinefride says:

I am happy to pray for everyone’s intentions, including Father Z’s.
Please pray for my family – especially my three teenagers. God Bless you all.

  17. Supertradmum says:

For all the serious intentions here

AnAmericanMother-prayers and especially for your husband.

For full recovery for Sarah, a young woman, who has a brain injury from a car accident.

For me to find a place to live here, some income while I am here, and to get back to Europe

  18. aviva meriam says:

in thanksgiving for my son’s continued progress towards health. We are so grateful he reached this current milestone: His MD informed us that while he’s in the maintenance phase, he can suffer a relapse any time throughout his adolescence. Please Lord, help him throughout this long road.
for the soul of a young man (age 15) who died from a drug overdose last weekend while his parents were out of town: for his family… may the lord grant healing to them in this time of pain.
for my own family: we are struggling to launch my business and keep me in grad school. Please Lord, continue to guide us and provide for us what is in our best interests.
