Syria: Muslim cleric gleefully smashes statue of Virgin Mary to shouts of “Allahu akbar”
The title of the video represents the cleric, Omar Gharba, as saying, “We won’t accept anything but Wahhabism in Syria,” but that is not what he says. What he actually says is, “Only Allah will be worshipped in the land of al-Sham [Syria], and only the rule of Allah will be established….We won’t accept anything but Allah, the religion of Allah, and the Sunnah of the prophet of Allah, Muhammad ibn Abdullah.”
Wahhabis present themselves not as the adherents of some sect, but as the authentic embodiment of true Islam. That is how they gain recruits among other Muslims. The way this video is titled obscures that, whether deliberately or not.

I think the Muslims in the video should perform some remedial reading of the Koran and the Hadith vis a vis Mary and her position withing Islam. Mohammed quotes the angels as saying Mary (Maryam in Arabic), the mother of Jesus, as the best woman to ever live. (Sura 3:42)

They have destroyed many shrines dedicated to the relatives of Mohammed.
They would destroy Mecca too but the outrage in the Muslim world would be immense.

Well of course they do. I can’t think of very many extremist groups of any kind who don’t make the claim that theirs is the only Pure Anadulterated One True Truth.
And to be fair, Catholics, Baptists, and Pastor Jim’s First Megachurch Presbylutheracostals all gain new adherents by presenting themselves as the authentic embodiment of true Christianity, too.
The same Wahhabi Saudis are funding the construction of massive new mosques and “Islamic cultural centers” in America and Europe. And where do they get this money? By selling us their oil, of course.

@acardnal When you are talking about the Muslim view of Mary as ‘the best woman to ever live’ you have to understand that they have a very different picture of the Blessed Mother in their mind than we do.
I have to say that if this guy didn’t have a turban on and wasn’t speaking Arabic I would have thought he was living in Washington D.C.
A timely reminder that there are no deals to be done and that Our Lady will triumph as she always has.

Mary seems all sweet and nice, but I wouldn’t want to p*** her off. And she’s got a high-ranking son. This was not Omar’s smartest move.
Considering that the Holy Spirit often demonstrates an enviable sense of humour, I would not be surprised if this particular cleric should see the light on the road to Damascus.
What ho, the religion of peace strikes again… Very hard to watch; what would the rest of America think if they saw this video (and hundreds of others)?

WHY FIVE SATURDAYS?
It is sometimes asked why Our Lady asked for Communions of reparation on five first Saturdays, instead of some other number. Our Blessed Lord answered that question when He appeared to Sr. Lucia May 29, 1930. He explained that it was because of five kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, namely:
1) blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception,
2) against her perpetual virginity, 3)against the divine and spiritual maternity of Mary,
4) blasphemies involving the rejection and dishonoring of her images,
5) and the neglect of implanting in the hearts of children a knowledge and love of this Immaculate Mother.

I a reminded of a line from the British miniseries “The Duchess of Duke Street.” Several villainous males were gloating together over the way in which they had the heroine over a barrel, in a legal matter. Frustrated almost to tears, heroine left the room, with the parting words: “and you call yourselves men!”
I won’t watch the video, but I’ve learned to expect anything from these folks. And yes, they are building “prayer centers ” throughout our country.

Pray for the five great Sees (Constantinople, Antioch, Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Carthage) that once were pillars of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church before Islam came and laid waste to them. Pray rosaries for their restoration and for the conversion of the Muslim peoples. Jesus Christ shed his blood for the Muslims too, and Our Lady will not let us down.
It is said, during one of the apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Bernadette was slightly distracted by some demons at the burning pile/dump (they were snorting and making other nasty sounds). Our Blessed Mother noticed this and merely *glanced* with her eyes towards the demons.
They vanished in an instant.
Nobody… nobody messes with the Mother of the Lord.
We should pray for this Muslim cleric.

That they did, and some among them, I believe, are down to this day just as hell-bent on doing whatever it takes to lay waste to Europe and to North America, every bit as much as their benighted ancestors were on subjugating the Middle East.
I’m not a “prepper” – yet – but since Our Lady at Fatima promised that the Catholic faith would always remain alive in Portugal, I sometimes wonder whether the smartest “prepping” one could do, might not be to keep one’s passport current, to keep some U.S. dollars and some Portugese escudos stashed away someplace handy, and to practice learning and speaking the Portugese language. This is not “just” a mosque.
Islam has long term plans for the future of this country. Thy certainly plan on filling these mega-mosques and infiltrating our justice system and elected offices -In fact we already are seeing that happen. The Constitution will mean nothing once they have accomplished their goals except when they can use it to their own advantage. The atrocity in this video and worse will begin to happen in this country just like the evil that is happening to Christians in other countries already.
Elections have consequences and this administration is sitting around watching Islamic fundamentalists clerics in Iran complete their nuclear bomb for “peaceful purposes”. They will be happy to “talk” until they have completed the task.
I think our secular leadership is in need of as much prayer as this cleric. This Administration is funding, and wants to fund more , people of this ilk. Add to this the Administration’s attitude towards Christianity in general and the Church in particular. Handwriting meet the Wall.

As for Mary being upset that this thug smashed a statue of her, I am sure she has been MUCH more angered by the murders of her fellow Jewish women and teen age girls blown to bits in buses and pizza parlors or stabbed in their beds.
