Brick by Brick in St. Louis

Brick by brick, my readers, brick by brick.

I had some good news:

Here is a good example of the Traditionalists “Riding The Bike”. [See this rant HERE.]

A Parish near St. Louis is starting a Latin Mass through the efforts of a few dedicated people. There are 2 links attached. 1st is Bill’s site with resources for the (62) Latin/English Missals for the Traditional Mass than any Parish can print & use HERE. 2nd is the St. Louis Review Article about the Tridentine Mass being started at St. Barnabas in the St. Louis area. HERE Bill & Fr. Hagen & others have worked very hard to get this going & I thought you could mention them and their resources in one of your articles.

Oh you thought that, did you?  HA!  No way.  Not on your life.

I’ve known of a number of places where re-introducing the EF Mass was a success; I haven’t heard of one where nobody came. Keep up the good work, Bill & Fr. Hagen, and take heart, all you other Bills & Fr. Hagens out there!

  2. Minister Itinerans says:

I live in St. Louis, and know some of the people involved in arranging this Mass. It is a Missa Cantata, and they are even receiving assistance from seminarians in order to coordinate everything! For reference though, the priest is actually Fr. Raymond Hager, with an r.

Looks like my home diocese of Albany, NY is getting in on the act. Another one for the “brick-by-brick” file I hope. Our new bishop is offering the Extraordinary Form Mass at our cathedral on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at 1030.

Too bad it’s the same day that Michael Voris is speaking at a day-long conference at one of our local Ukrainian Catholic parishes. http://www.churchmilitant.tv/speakingengagements/

Speaking as someone with family around O’Fallon…this is fantastic news. When I go back to see family, I invariably go to St. Francis de Sales Oratory; but it has long been painfully clear that there was a crying need for a regular TLM at the northern end of the archdiocese. The Oratory is worth the trip, but…for many Catholics in St. Charles County, this is a godsend.

Let us pray that other pastors in St. Louis follow Fr. Hager’s courageous example – and that other laity follow the example of the Latin Liturgy Association. Ride the bike.

I’m grateful that Fr. Z gave us the resource links in the above article.

The materials there are some of the most clear and helpful I have found on the Latin Mass!
