UPDATE: Yes, the Rosary is a spiritual weapon. A cry for help from @massimofaggioli

I can only interpret Massimo “Beans” Faggioli’s confused statements about the Rosary as a cry for help.  Otherwise, what he has repeated is truly dreadful.

I have already posted a request to you readers to say the Rosary for him.  HERE

Now I see that he is at it again.

In Brussels there was an ecumenical service held in the cathedral of all places for “Reformation” Sunday.  Some young Catholics had the audacity to pray the Rosary.  The powers that be had them removed by the police.  HERE

Beans tooted on Twitter:

The Most Holy Rosary certainly IS a weapon. It is entirely proper to speak of the Rosary as a weapon.

Faggioli’s statement against thinking about the Rosary as spiritual weapon is a diabolical insinuation which, if taken seriously, could undermine how people pray and enervate our will to resist the attacks of the Enemy of the Soul with one of our most powerful spiritual tools.  It is, quite simply, wicked in its implications.  I hope and pray that he is merely confused.

Faggioli’s statement against thinking about Mary as a “human shield” is preposterous.  It flies directly in the face of centuries of tradition, prayer and Catholic identity.

One of the earliest Christian prayers which we possess is

Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genetrix. Nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. Amen.

We take refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our needs, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Pope Francis has spoken of this prayer and the protection that Mary provides.  HERE

What on earth is Faggioli up to?   Is it a cry for help in the shape of self-promotion?  “Hey!  Look at me! See how edgy I can be?”

Remember that he is one of the New catholic Red Guards.

Another writer of the New catholic Red Guards, Michael Sean Winters of the National Schismatic Reporter (aka Fishwrap) has also tried to undermine our use of the Rosary by objecting to referring to it as a “weapon”.  HERE

Coincidence?

Just do a search of the webs for “schutzmantelmadonna“.

It is hard to understand how Faggioli can be so obtuse when it comes to this odd notion of his.  But he has now repeated it.

Please place Massimo beneath Mary’s shielding mantle and say some or all of a Rosary for him.   Pray for him and against his influence on the unsuspecting.

Perhaps also ask Bl. Bartolo Longo to intercede for him with Our Lady and before the throne of God.

UPDATE:

Let me help Massimo in a concrete way:

At a Mass for the Assumption 2013 Pope Francis told the crowds:

“Mary joins us, she fights at our side. She supports Christians in the fight against the forces of evil. Especially through prayer, through the rosary. Hear me out, the rosary… Do you pray the Rosary each day? I don’t know, are you sure? There we go!”

And in his native tongue an extended quote with my emphases:

Ma questo non significa che [Maria] sia lontana, che sia staccata da noi; anzi, Maria ci accompagna, lotta con noi, sostiene i cristiani nel combattimento contro le forze del male. La preghiera con Maria, in particolare il Rosario – ma sentite bene: il Rosario. Voi pregate il Rosario tutti i giorni? Ma, non so… [la gente grida: Sì!] Sicuro?

But this does not mean that [Mary] is distant or detached from us; rather Mary accompanies us, fights along with us, sustains Christians in their combat against the forces of evil. Prayer with Mary, especially the Rosary – but listen carefully: the Rosary. Do you pray the Rosary every day? But I’m not sure you do [the people shout “Yes!”]… Really? So, prayer with Mary, especially the Rosary, has this “combative” dimension, that is of struggle, a prayer that sustains us in the battle against the evil one and his accomplices. The Rosary also sustains us in the battle.

Massimo and his tribe have been weaponizing apostasy for generations, and are doing so today with greater zeal than ever. The Rosary may well be the only way they can be disarmed.

    [At least “weaponizing confusion“.]

  2. Dan says:

I had heard that at Vatican II Mary was originally to have her own document dedicated to her. Certain powers at play through felt that Mary rubbed other religions the wrong way and was to polorizing against the spirit of ecumenicism that they were trying to foster, so she was tacked onto the end of Lumen Gentium instead. Also I recall that many tried to reduce the use of the Most Holy Rosary saying it was unfit to say during Eucharistic adoration. Even still many priests actively will discourage the use of “rote” prayer in favor of a more personal dialog, which I never understood, it seems to pander to relativism. Also in the last 40 years the brown scapular has been almost forgotten relegated to the dust heap of old stuff we don’t need to bother with any more and many priest don’t see it as particularly valuable.
Mary is constantly under attack by satan. Attacks that thankfully have been noneffective but effective enough to get people to stop praying the rosary and wearing their scapulars.
To borrow and slightly change a line from the classic movie Toy Story. The Brown Scapular! If you don’t have one, GET ONE!

  3. Ave Crux says:

Fantastic commentary in the power of the Rosary. Our Lady of Fatima specifically stated that the Rosary was necessary to obtain peace from God.

It stopped the Communist takeover in both Brazil and Austria (see link below), to say nothing of winning the Battle of Lepanto against all possible odds – the very reason the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was established (2nd link below).

    Not a weapon?…not protection from Our Lady…?

I fear nothing will be left of the Faith by the time God and the Blessed Virgin intervene with Catholics like these.

    Hagan lio?

I watched the video. Those were the only young men I saw in the cathedral apart from police.

I wonder when the last time was that cathedral had a dozen young men praying the rosary together at the same time?

I hope we see more of this.

  5. majuscule says:

As I watched the video of those young men kneeling on the hard floor praying, I had the distinct feeling that Mother Mary was deeply honored.

  6. KateD says:

“The Most Holy Rosary certainly IS a weapon”

Which is why, as I recently learned, it is to be worn on the left, like a sword, ready to be wielded at the enemy.

  7. Sandy says:

Attacks on our Mother should not be surprising. The late exorcist, Father Amorth, tells of the reaction of the devil to Mary. He hates and fears her even more than Jesus, because she was human and never sinned. The devil knows where he stands with God, but to have to obey Mary, a mere human, angers him horribly. And yes, he must obey her. Just read Father Amorth’s words. I am eternally grateful to my ancestors for teaching me devotion to the Blessed Mother in my childhood, and equally grateful that when I grew up it was reinforced in the Church and schools, even all the way through college. God bless you, Father Z, for reminding everyone of this important WEAPON!

  8. ALL: I hope that, before you write a comment on him, you have stopped first to say a prayer for him, even a decade of the Rosary, such a powerful weapon that could move him and be of benefit.

  9. Rich says:

Faggioli’s comments are reminiscent of Fr. James Martin’s taking issue with the term “Church Militant”:

    http://www.msnbc.com/am-joy/watch/steve-bannon-vs-the-pope-875631683817

Yet, St. Paul tells us “We are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). And, if St. Paul tells us to take up “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (6:17), why not take up the rosary to the same purpose, which Pius XII, Blessed Paul VI, and St. John Paul II called a “compendium of the gospel”?

  10. KT127 says:

    Prayer said, Father.

I am amazed…..Catholic men were being removed from a Catholic Church for saying the rosary. I hope the Catholics in Brussels are raising a stink about this because that’s beyond the pale.

There is so much wrong with that situation. We should NOT be celebrating the division of our Church or the start of extremely bloody wars. Good for these men!

Are the higher ups really unaware of how most lay Catholics feel about a Reformation Sunday? Most of us keep our comments mild for one reason….we work for protestants.

  11. Semper Gumby says:

Massimo Faggioli tweeted: “I am against the…”

It seems that most things Catholic are automatically rejected by catholics.

  12. Ben Kenobi says:

    Cranmore has returned!

“Catholic men were being removed from a Catholic Church for saying the rosary.”

What is this “Catholicism” you presume. They are fighting for the soul of the Church and *we* are the outsiders. We saw this in England. We will see it again, and for much the same reasons. Satan cannot prevail – but he can and will divide. Division is on us again. We lost millions of brothers and sisters last time this happened.

  13. The Masked Chicken says:

Did these young men approach the pastor or bishop and try to argue their point? I suppose, since this is Belgium, one could assume that would be a futile gesture. Praying the Rosary is good, but, in a more sarcastic vein, I think howling with laughter might have been the way to go. I mean, this paragraph was part of the sermon. What does it even mean:

“Our individuality and our unity consist not in the passive acceptance of diversity. Our unity essentially derives from respecting differences. Without the other who is different, who thinks otherwise, who does otherwise, I do not exist, I am nothing. Differences are an inherent part of unity.”

I mean, I do textual analysis and this text is either a joke or produced by 100 random pastors typing on typewriters.
