Just got off the air

I just got off the air with Hugh Hewitt, talking for two segments about the 5 Conditions and what is going on with the SSPX.

Please check out Mr. Hewitt’s site.

I’ll try to put up some audio from this along wiht a recent hit with Al Kresta.

Hello, Father. I just heard you speak on Mr. Hewitt’s show. I had never seen your site before and I’m very glad to have discovered it. I can’t believe how much the church has changed even since I was little (I’m 27) and I’d love to see the TLM return!

  2. Luke says:

    Celebrate, it’s back!

Happened to turn on the radio during afternoon commute and was delighted to hear you, particularly your reference to Christian hope. In Te, Domine, speravi!

  4. Will says:

Two of the four comments on Hugh’s website are hostile to Catholicism, alas. Brick by brick, indeed.

  5. Jenny Z says:

Oh man!! The ONE day I’m not listening…

Guess I’ll have to catch the Podcast…

  6. Brian Day says:

Darn! I listen to Hugh Hewitt almost every day on my way home from work. You must have come on just after I got home.

    Fr. Z,
If you wouldn’t mind sharing, but what are the logistics of going a radio show? Did the producer Generalissimo (Dwayne Patterson) contact you by email or phone? Since you are contacted on a semi-regular basis by the media, is there a industry-wide contact list that you are on?

Mr Hewitt often has Fr Fessio on the air for Catholic related issues. It would be wonderful if you could be the “go-to guy” for all things Catholic. I know that Mr Hewitt is a lapsed Catholic, but is making noises that he is interested in returning to the Church. Having someone like you on the air would go a long way to bring him, and others, but to the Faith.

  7. Brian: Usually I am contacted by the producer of the shows I sometimes talk to, but this time I had a note from Mr. Hewitt, who wanted to pick my brain after reading the blog.

  8. Daniel says:

    where’s the audio?

  9. Gregg the Obscure says:

For those not familiar with Mr. Hewitt’s show, one Dr. David Allen White is a frequent guest and, I think it’s fair to say, a friend of the host. The same Dr. White is active in SSPX. Dr. White — like many fine folks in the SSPX — could do a great deal of good for the larger Church. It’s worth remembering that the fine folks of the SSPX could also benefit from the larger Church.

  10. Somerset '76 says:

I can vouch for Gregg’s comment about Dr. White. In past times, I was personally acquainted with him and attended a number of literature conferences he gave at the SSPX’s North American seminary at the behest of then-rector Bishop Williamson.

I know Dr. White to be in the class of Society loyalists who will be difficult to persuade over Roman negotiations. Watch Hewitt’s site for any input Dr. White may give to this situation….

  11. ASD says:

Gregg the Obscure, You’re so right. If SSPX members return, the effect will be tremendous. It would be kinda like a redistricting of voters that brought a million or so conservative voters into the district. Lord, let it happen.
