My prayers sent..
Prayers offered.
Might I also request here that prayers be said for the repose of the soul of Pariarch Alexy II of Moscow, who passed away today at the age of 79.
May God grant him eternal rest.
requiem…
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual Light shine upon him. Amen.
offering my Holy Communion tomorrow for Fr. John Weyer and all deceased Priests.
He was a well loved priest from what I hear from my friends here in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Cardinal DiNardo visited Fr. John Weyer about two weeks ago knowing the end was near. From the little bit I know, he held a strong fidelity to the Church and her teachings.
RIP Fr. John Weyer.
Well done, good and faithful servant — may Fr. Weyer be welcomed into the joy of his Master.
Fr. Weyer introduced both Perpetual Adoration and the devotion to the Divine Mercy to St. Vincent de Paul parish, Houston. May he have eternal rest.
I have said a prayer for Father Weyer’s soul.
Mike
His funeral is on Wednesday (12/10) at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul parish, Houston. Please continue to pray for his soul, as well as for the priests of the Archdiocese – especially our aged and infirmed priests.
Fr. Weyer introduced both Perpetual Adoration and the devotion to the Divine Mercy to St. Vincent de Paul parish, Houston. May he have eternal rest.
I believe he did the same at his prior assignment, St. Laurence in Sugar Land; if he didn’t introduce them, he certainly promoted them zealously. During his pastorate, the chapel of the parish school (K-8, now about 750 students) was enlarged and dedicated to the Divine Mercy. I was blessed to have my two daughters baptized therein.
I pray that Fr. Weyer has been fully embraced by the Divine Mercy he preached and venerated. May God grant him eternal rest, and may we who knew him never cease praying for his soul.
