I suspected you referred to a tonsure, but wasn’t 100% sure. So I looked it up, and surely, the tonsure was mentioned. But surprise! The dictionary came up with another ecclesiastical use as well – and I’m sure there will be one or two readers here who’d be interested in that tidbit, so here goes:
