    Slow news day, CNN?

I didn’t understand why Msgr. Ganswein couldn’t have come up and swatted it away!

This is probably one of the most positive Pope stories the mainstream media has done in years. We should rejoice – they even compared him favorably to Pres. Obama.

  4. I am in awe. The Pope is a man of iron! A spider walked all over him, and he didn’t even pay it any mind until it WALKED ON HIS FACE! And even then, he just brushed it off his face, and the spider lived!

But spiders are in the Bible, at least in Latin. They kinda get morphed into other languages in contemporary translations. Anyway, this older reference seems appropriate:

“The spider takes hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.”

Pope tolerates spider. President Obama kills fly. Hmm…I wonder who is the real man of peace.

I had a decent sized spider come down on a web strand a short distance in front of me one time during adoration. Despite probably looking like some lunatic waving my hands in the air, I grabbed the strand, let the spider down to the ground, and, well,….if it was wondering if spiders can go to heaven, it knows for certain now….or not.

A few years ago a sister (religious sister) walked up near the altar during Mass and stomped on a huge spider that was making its way to the altar.
