May the “phos” be with you.
Salutationes omnibus.
Notice how much longer the days are getting?
In the mid-west, around December 10th, we had the biggest storm in 10 years. It has felt like winter (out here) ever since.

Tom in NY: LOL!
As Shelley once noted: “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?”
It lifts my spirit to think of moving toward the light. Thank you Fr. Z., Blessed Advent.
I’m always reminded of St. John the Baptist’s words regarding Our Lord: ‘He [Our Lord] must increase, while I [John] must decrease.’
The daylight begins to decrease around the birthday of St. John the Baptist [June 24] and increases around the birthday of Our Lord [December 25].
My Bonaventurian heart is touched.
O Oriens!
Now He increases!
I suffer from a particularly virulent variety of Seasonal Affective Disorder, so the coming of the Winter Solstice is always welcome.
I found this year to be an easier change of seasons by going to bed earlier and awakening shortly after sunrise. I figure my body needs every photon it can get in the dark days.
Yesterday my husband was immediately able to stand an uncooked egg on end in the middle of our kitchen floor. This can only be done twice a year at the solstices. Our children loved to watch this science experiment; now we send photos of the phenomenon to our grandchildren.
Holy Mother Church promotes Geocentrism and condemns Heliocentrism as Heresy. The Earth does not spin, it does not revolve around the Sun.
Robert A. Sungenis, Ph.D. and Robert J. Bennett, Ph.D., have written two current books W/DVDs on this subject; Galileo Was Wrong.
The DVD of Galileo Was Wrong has some great animated sequences showing orbits and how the Sun revolves around the Earth, and creates seasons.
