A note about registering

In order to post comments here, you need to register.  After review, I approve the registrations … or not.

I impose registration here for a couple reasons.  First, there are really creepy people out there and we don’t need their creepiness around here.  Second, there are bots and spammers and other slimy parasites to fend off.

I don’t automatically approve registrations.  If I don’t see enough information in your registration or if, and I get even a twinge of suspicion, I don’t approve it.  I delete it.

So, if you register, providing a bit more information about yourself tells me a) that you are not as likely to be a creep, or b) you are not a parasite.

I am unlikely to approve registrations that simply give initials or have some words in no language I can fathom.  Normal is good.

  3. I wish people had to show their true identity on each post, on this or any site. There might be a very few cases where exception is justified.

Then you wouldn’t have a fair representation of the thoughts of people since many, myself included, are not happy to publicly declare our positions on faith and morals.

Welll… I get to decide that here. And I do think it is justified in some cases.

What I don’t want are entirely inhuman handles.
