I have been looking for Nuns On The Bus updates. Have you seen any?
At their site I did find this. I thought you would want to know how they are doing.

[There’s some real inspiration for you.]But these were real Catholic nuns, a rotating 14 or so of them, [The Rotating Fourteen!] on a bus tour of nine states, calling attention to the harshness of the U.S. House of Representatives’ budget bill. [What is truly “harsh” is holding down the poor in their poverty through top-down government programs which enervate local projects and which kill incentive by redistribution of wealth, which they perceive to be like a static zero-sum pie that must be cut up.] You might think of the particular space they occupy as Catholic Church meets mass popular culture, [more like meets Woodstock] borrowing from the Occupy movement. [Don’t leave our Saul Alinsky.] The audience was almost as amped as if the nuns were rock stars, [Did she mention rock stars? Like, what, a girl band?] and their spokeswoman, Sister Simone Campbell, quoted as freely from Stephen Colbert and “The Daily Show” as from the Scriptures.
“Isn’t it wonderful!” a Catholic woman who was part of the sidewalk gathering exclaimed.
If they are rock stars, I want to hear their revision of the fine old:

Yuck – truly a Woodstock moment. It’s embarassing that these so-called “sisters” are the loudest, while the real nuns are silently praying for all of us unnoticed.

@disco: they probably don’t believe in hell. Therefore, it doesn’t exist. That’s what their conscience has informed them. They then voted on its existence as and the majority vote was “no hell.”
I saw them on the news. As they exited the bus frankly it looked like a field trip for the geriatric ward of the LCWR, or are they the youth of that movement? Good grief!

You have hit the nail squarely and firmly on the head. But, of course, they are unable to see such a simple reality with any real clarity.
I make the following observation based on a bit over two decades of Naval service, but I think there is at least some truth to it. IMHO, one of the biggest mistakes made following Vatican II with respect to the female religious orders was the abandonment of the habit. Wearing attire distinctive to one’s organization or master, particularly at times when one is engaged in acts of service in that cause, is a ready help in remembering one’s vows (oaths) and responsibilities toward the mission and the person/organization which one is serving. It serves to keep one’s mind focused on the relationship between self and master. No one save our Lord Himself, will ever convince me that depriving the sister’s of their habits was not a significant contributor to the subsequent deviation if not a few of them from the path to which they had committed themselves by their vows.
When I was attired in uniform there was a greater consciousness that all of my conduct reflected not simply on me, but on the Navy, and on the Lord I professed to follow and serve. It “set me apart” not in the sense of someone who was somehow superior to others in virtue or any other personal attribute, but in reminding me that any misconduct, however slight, would reflect disgracefully on the Navy, of whom I was a representative. I believe the same holds as true for consecrated religious in their relationship to Christ and His Church, as it does for anyone in military service. If one loses that sense of responsibility, one can easily lose one’s way in living out one’s vocation.

1. That probably is the best way to get them to go away.
2. Your song (and the variations in the comments) is funny but even though they are misguided, personal attacks don’t seem part of Christian Charity. Note: If they say something new and you want to refute ideas, I am all for it; because they we have the responsibility that others are not lead astray but such things set an example of non-charity for those we have the responsibility to lead. Jesus sets a radical standard for charity – it is his new commandment.

Of course Jesus was in the right but you’re comparing apples and oranges. Jesus said what they were (Vipers), but he didn’t go around telling anti-pharisee jokes. As well, he was in a different culture.
Maybe think about it this way – image one guy saying “lazy bum” to a black man on welfare and another tellign a joke with a pro-slavery punchline to the same black man. One is often true and it may help him realize he can do something with his life, the other clearly lacks charity.
More charity towards them? No. Their ridiculous behavior has been written up in my diocesan newspaper, given credibility. Their unhumble and unanchored-by-reality political opinions have been given more free press and official (by extension) support. Like spoiled children, riding around using other people’s money, demanding more money. A children’s tune could not be more appropriate.
Oh my goodness, there are certainly some very creative versions of an old childhood song!

As Americans, the Sisters have a right to make a public statement of whatever opinions they wish to share. Sure, they are an embarrassment to American Catholics, copying Planned Parenthood’s bus tour (wrapped in Pepto-Pink)…. but we should be focusing on our own rallies with the Fortnight for Freedom. We do have a real message to bring to the nation.

I can call a spade a spade – many members of the LCWR are formal heretics. These who are on the bus are dishonoring their bishops like spoiled children. Many nuns are posioning many a good Catholic’s mind with their vapid errors.
However, it is another step altogether to start writing songs that primarly insult them.

Well, Yes, as Americans they have “rights” even to burn the flag.
But as Catholics (“Catholic” Nuns, to boot) they have a Right and a Duty to proclaim the Teachings of The Catholic Church. This they do not do. And WE have a Right and a Duty to expose their errors so that others will not be misled.
We can focus on Fortnight for Freedom and we do have a message to bring to the Nation.
But we cannot neglect the message we must bring to Catholics at large, so that they will not be misled into sin. We can and should do both.
The heresies of these nuns and their example of disobedience to Church Teachings and the Magisterium are of more danger to the Immortal Soul than the persecution proposed by a tyranny of the government. Our Bishops are giving us a “how-to” to avoid this tyranny, may they also give us a long over-due “how-to” to avoid falling into mortal sin as advocated by heretical nuns.
These little fun ditties are nothing compared to what may greet them on judgement day. May they repent and reatract before then.

No, this is very funny, and very appropriate really. All day long we have to be concerned and battle these insane people who want to literally ruin our faith and church. They insult God and mankind with their manipulations, fabrications, and outright lies. They teach error, and how many souls have been lost following their disturbing “guidance” and “teaching”. The people to be annoyed with are the nuns. It is appropriate. Far too long have we used a “polite” and “genteel” way of handling this terrible situation we find ourselves in. There is a time and place for turning one’s cheek, and being docile. There is a time for action and yes, for levity. I know personally speaking, I badly need some fellowship in this battle, it’s fatiguing! If you aren’t fatigued, you aren’t doing enough! Fatigue makes soldiers in war find companions, even strange bedfellows. The bond is strong, because the warriors need to pull together and face the enemy. We have a devious, strong enemy, with lots of support going their way. We need to laugh, alot. We also need to take on these actions head on, not being constantly meek and mild, too polite to be straightforward and courageous! That DOES…NOT…WORK.
There is a time for St. Francis, and there is a time for St. Paul. St. Paul, what would he have said and done, if he were here today! He needs to be our model for the times in which we find ourselves, surrounded by heresy and nuns and others who promote their own degraded version of God’s eternal truth.
So, when is the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuit going to be finished with their tour?

True. However, my concern was not for the souls of the nuns but the souls of those who insult them. Any sin is evil first of all because it does evil to the one commiting it. (My secondary argument was that they will just use such comments to paint themselves as poor and persecuted.)

Fr Joe gets a call in his office, “Hello, this is James Smith from the IRS, is this the pastor.” “yes” responds Fr Joe. “Well, did John Doe give $15,000 to the parish as his IRS forms show.” Fr Joe thinks aminute and responds, “He will be giving $15,000.”
I think you are right, Kathleen10, about the positive good of good humor for the good spirits of those fighting the good fight. It might be good for some to lighten up and take a good course in moral theology so as to learn to make good moral distinctions.
