MADISON – 8 DEC – Pontifical Mass at the Throne

If you are anywhere near Madison, WI – or even if you are not – His Excellency Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino (aka The Extraordinary Ordinary) will celebrate a Pontifical Mass at the Throne for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Monday 8 December is a Holy Day of Obligation in these United States.

Mass will begin 7 PM at the Chapel of the Bishop O’Connor Center.

In November, His Excellency celebrated a Pontifical Requiem Mass.

In February, he has graciously consented to celebrate for Candlemas, 2 February.  Bring your candles for the blessing!

Unfortunately here in Canada Dec 8 is never a holy day of obligation (though I wish it was! – Canada only has two: Christmas and Mary, Mother of God)…but it was my understanding that in the US holy days of obligation were abrogated on Saturdays and Mondays?

TWF generally that is the case, but I believe that Immaculate Conception is one of those that is never abrogated, unlike All Saints Day which received that treatment this year.
