This is just down the road from my house. I’ve been here 6 years and it is a nice corner of Houston where you at worst worry about petty theft, teenage mischief, or bad driving.
I would not be surprised if he went there with the express purpose of killing a cop. That gas station is unofficially the sheriff’s gas station. It isn’t uncommon to see 2 or 3 patrol cars at certain times of the day whether filling up, meeting up, etc. The shooter lives closer than I do, so he probably noticed the same thing.
Shot 15 times in the back. That kind of cowardice and brutality is sickening.
God bless and comfort Deputy Darren Goforth’s family, and may he rest in peace.
And may He send legions of angels and archangels to protect all the “men in blue” who risk their lives daily to protect even the people who want to do them in.
May Deputy Goforth Rest In Peace. And comfort to his family and fellow officers.
Beyond despicable and tragic.
It seems as if there are efforts afoot to create deep distrust of civilians by law enforcement and, vice versa, of law enforcement by civilians. Are we being set up?
Father Z
You are correct about “magazine”.
So, when is “clip” the proper nomenclature ?
High capacity rifle ?
Maybe when it entirely extends beyond the chamber of a rifle ?
Not sure
Ok, I did a little research.
Magazines have internal springs and feed ammo directly into the chamber.
Clips do not have a spring .
Clips feed into the weapon’s magazine.
Most modern weapons use magazines to hold ammo.
Just remember this; when they eventually make Catholicism illegal, it’s the cops and their guns that will come for all of us. I live in Japan and it happened her, twice.
