Having braved the snow storm, I white knuckled it to the airport. Half an eye was on my phone as I anticipated a cancellation or delay notice. None was forthcoming.
The ramp was as jammed as I have ever seen it, the lines longer than I’ve experienced at this time of the day. Where’s everyone going?!?
So, I arrived at my gate while they were boarding my zone.
The boarding process has been smooth, which suggests to me that there aren’t many rookies.
Time to fire up the earplugs and the Kindle.
UPDATE
MASSIVE DELAY as they deice and close runway and deice again.
Connection? I don’t think so.
We been sitting in a 90F cabin for over an hour.
UPDATE
As this becomes more and more irritating I’ve switched from the 13 Hours in Benghazi soundtrack to Lute Music in Rome at the Time of Caravaggio.
UPDATE
Finally some AC. It was getting brutal in here.

Again…

A few more minutes and we’ll be haulin’ the mail!
“Where’s everyone going?!?”
Well, my neighbors fly to Cancun today for a week in the sun.
Safe travels, Father. I look forward to making the (car) trip down from the mountains for your Mass in Littleton on Saturday evening.
It is my hope that many people are traveling to Washington for the 2017 March for Life. We have four family members going. Safe travels to all.
Saint Raphael with Tobias, pray for us.
Saint Gabriel with Mary, pray for us.
Saint Michael with all the heavenly host, pray for us.
Be our safeguard and protection on this journey.
God the Father be our origin, God the Son be our passage, God the Holy Ghost be our homecoming.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
And still, the Protestants don’t believe in Purgatory! ;-)
Looks like Wednesday will not be a good day for Fr. Z.
Have a safe trip Fr. Z.

The joys of de-icing. They can’t run the a/c while de-icing because they have to shut down the engines to avoid sucking de-icing fluid fumes into the fuselage. I spent two hours delayed Right before Christmas because it was snowing so heavily. Once the got the plane de-iced, they had to wait for the runway to be cleared of snow. By the time they taxied to the runway the plane had to be de-iced again. By the time the plane was de-iced, they had to clear the runway again, etc. I just remind myself that by not being so thorough with de-icing, the plane will crash from ice build up on the wings. Delays suddenly don’t feel so annoying afterwards.
