I got my password reset and can log in through the desktop version of the site, but I couldn’t immediately find a login link on the mobile version. Is anyone else able to log in on the mobile site?
@bombermac How are you able to access the mobile site? For the past few weeks my phone has been loading the desktop version (iPhone running safari)
Ah, the sin of pride…
I thought it was just me who couldn’t log in.
No problems!
Gorgeous day here, 70 degrees and clear sky. Rain tomorrow night, though. And the Asian ladybugs (thanks, USDA!) are capitalizing on every place the house is not sealed, so I get to vacuum hundreds of them off the ceiling every few hours. And give thanks that I have a house, and a vacuum cleaner, and the strength to use it.
Based on the warning I received when I logged in, I wonder if it would be possible/easy to add a secure — https — login. Might reduce some trouble. Warning said that connection is unsecure and login could be compromised.
So far so good. As easy as saying the black and doing the red.
Looks like the new pw works…
Yeah, an https cert would be good. Father can get a free one every three months from LetsEncrypt.
Wet and windy weather here in Scotland.
I had some difficulty logging in on my iPhone. The email just had a blank for the change-password-and-log-in link. I did manage it in the end, but I’m not sure how. And I would like to change the password.
Test 1-2-3. Seems to work on my Mac.
As you might know software and hardware upgrades do not always go as planned. But they are much easier the doctrine upgrades….. wink.
Managed to log back in. Tried to change my password, but it reverted to the one you had sent.
I got in. Changed my password.
I am sorry you have to deal with this, Fr. Z. :^(
Easy once I realized you had sent new passwords.
Everything is working just fine here. I received the email with the new password and logged in without a hitch.
O Crux ave, spes unica.
Thank you, working fine!
Able to log in now–thanks, Fr. Z.
It rained heavily this morning and now it is overcast though pretty warm, as I have a few windows open. Thanks for your hard work, after I sent and email and I was getting the 404 page trying to comment I was a little worried, but I got a new password and it is running smoothly.
Success! Thank you :-)
Took a few tries but finally able to log in. Thanks for all your hard work on this update and for your blog. It’s a huge blessing!
Thanks to the update I am finally able to log in and comment where appropriate.
Much appreciated, Father.
@bestudent Not sure, it just came up for me as mobile by default. There might be a link somewhere to switch between mobile and desktop.
As for the weather, it’s breezy and we’re under a tornado watch.
. . . another good reason for referring to this type of technology as “artificial” intelligence: Went to my junk/spam mail box to find the links (yeah links – I tried 2 times before checking spam *Dohh!*)
@truthfinder : I was able to successfully change mine back to the original password once I was on the ‘profile page’ after logging in with the new password. . . (just in case – needs to be 12 digits minimum)
All I did was enter the original password under “Account Management” in the “Generate Password” field , then scrolled the rest of the way down to the bottom of the page to click in the lower LH corner on the blue square labelled “Update Profile” (…logged out then logged back in again with the original password [don’t know if this will help at all. God bless.] )
The password does not have to be 12 characters. There is a box to check beneath the generate password box that will let you use a weak password. It took me 3 tries (thank you, Fr. Z. for being patient) since I have many similar passwords, and I think I messed up putting in the old password.
The Chicken
Thanks Grumpy Beggar and Masked Chicken. I followed your instructions, and it didn’t work despite the fact that I got a confirmation email that the change worked. Tried the new password as well as the one sent, and neither worked! So I did a password reset and that seemed to solve it.
Sure enough, my password had ceased to suffice. Therefore I requested a reset in email and followed instructions. Your software accused me of weakness! But I prevailed and, as you can clearly see, I was able to log in.
I reset my password from the login page and at long last it seems to be sorted out.
I was able to log in with the password provided. Thank you.
Yes, I’m on board again! Thanks Fr.!
I’m kind of glad I got the password reset. I haven’t been here in a while, but checked back in when it came to me. Good to be back!
I got in! Found the email and when it would let me, got in, and promptly changed my password to a suitably long and complicated one!
Back working…. Got the new password and changed my IP address.
Finally, I was able to log in using the Password that I was sent. Wow, that is one I will never remember. I had to copy it, with more than my 63 yr old memory.
Karl
Ooo-Rah! I FINALLY managed to log in again! I had missed this.
Incidentally, the weather here was beautiful today; I heard it’s supposed to be windy tomorrow.
In all likelihood a glitch; a software/programming side effect precipitated by Fr. Z’s consistently, lovingly, nudging us towards the confessional. I’m sure the software didn’t intend anything mean or hurtful by it.

Thank you Father, worked for me now.
What’s the hamburger for on the mobile site? I got nuttin.
Yes, it just took a couple of attempts but pretty easy, really.
Thanks, Father.

Mine worked a-oh-Kay! Thanks Father!
As for the weather…..rain today in Alliston Ontario. Stupid global warming!!!!! ?
Thanks, I am in with the new password.
Can I change the password with something easier to remember?
[Yes, in your profile.]
[Yes, in your profile.]
Ok … I like the safety of the big p/w, so maybe I will keep it for a while. Chrome seems to remember it, anyway.
