Father, I too, thought of the connection with St. John the Baptist, because it is the birthday of one of our children. Maybe it will bring God’s mercy and graces for conversion upon our world, that such a thing was accomplished.
The Gradual for the Nativity of St. John the Baptist is extremely fitting for today: “Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and ?????? ???? ?????? ????? ??? ?? ??? ????, ? ?????????? ????. And the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth: and the Lord said to me.”
The Lesson is also fitting: “Give ear, ye islands, and hearken, ye people from afar. ??? ???? ???? ?????? ?? ???? ??? ????, ???? ??? ?????? ?? ?? ?????? ?? ???? ???? ??????? ?? ?? ????. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword: in the shadow of his hand he hath protected me, and hath made me as a chosen arrow: in his quiver he hath hidden me. And he said to me: Thou art my servant Israel, for in thee will I glory. ??? ??? ????? ??? ????, ???? ?????? ?? ???? ??? ???? ?? ?? ??? ???????, ???? ? ??? ????? ???? ????? ???? ???, ??? ?????? ???? ??? ?? ???????? ????????: ??? ? ?? ????????? ?? ??? ???? ?? ??? ????, ??? ?? ??? ?? ???? ?? ????????. And he said: It is a small thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have given thee to be the light of the Gentiles, that thou mayst be my salvation even to the farthest part of the earth. Thus saith the Lord the redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to the soul that is despised, to the nation that is abhorred, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see, and princes shall rise up, and adore for the Lord’s sake, because he is faithful, and for the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.
Night Night Baby didn’t tweet today with the same level of enthusiasm as he did when tweeting his……sister. I expect as much from the rest of the hierarchical clown car. Today is a historic day indeed. May it follow with more action; and may the Blessed Mother please protect and sustain us in the hysteria to follow.
Thanks be to God! I wasn’t sure if I would live to see this day.
Thank the Lord!
And SHAME on Biden and Pelosi. Now with their statements today, will the Bishops all please come out and say they are officially excommunicated?!?!?
While I was slow in embracing the pro-life movement (growing up Catholic in the 1980s it was an afterthought and my coming to the pro life movement had a part in my reversion story), I am glad to see in my lifetime that Roe v. Wade is overturned.
What did it for me more than anything else was as a young man in his late 20s and early 30s (mid late 1990s) I had some female friends who were comfortable sharing stories of some of their married friends who had trouble getting pregnant in part due to years of being on The Pill. I also had a roommate who was taking NFP classes with his girlfriend as part of their marriage preparation. About two years later I dated a girl who shared with me that she was in a reversion story after breaking up about a year before we met with a live in boyfriend. These were three events (along with hearing Dr. Nathanson’s testimony) that were instrumental in bringing me (yes, I am a guy) around to the pro life movement. Prior to coming around I looked at abortion as a “womans thing ” .
Men please learn that the pro life movement affects you too.
Well said, hwriggles4.
Now this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning.

All glory to God.
Pray very much for the conversion of those who will act in accord with the devil over the Supreme Court decision. Offer Mass for their conversion, out of Charity for their eternal souls.
“Liturgically St. John is transferred to tomorrow, but his Feast really is today.”
Is that correct? The ordo that I’ve checked online has his feast moved to the previous day (June 23) and tomorrow as the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Just curious…
Hosanna in the highest.
