“101. 1. In accordance with the centuries-old tradition of the Latin rite, the Latin language is to be retained by clerics in the divine office.”
“99. … It is, moreover, fitting that the office, both in choir and in common, be sung when possible.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium)
So, those of us bound to the Divine Office in any capacity, should probably have a copy of the Liber Hymnarius, so we can actually….uh….follow the Second Vatican Council – especially if we are using the Ordinary Form of it.
St Joseph, Dispenser of the Treasures of the Sacred Heart…we love that one too. I can never get over that he was so humble and so good but also the HEAD of the Holy Family. I prayed for everybody I could think of at holy mass today all of the Josephs (including my wayward brother and son named for him) but also all of the priests I could think of and all of the dads and anybody with a devotion to good St. Joseph. We are so blessed by such a holy saint to protect and guide us!
Protector of the Holy Church? I’m wondering if he has orders from a Higher Source to sit this one out.
Ite ad Ioseph. Just completed a Novena to him to honor the third year anniversary of my consecration to him.
