   So are there any liturgical/practical rules regarding the use of the Maniple? Do you take it off for sermon as in the Extraordinary Form? Where would one put it during the sermon?

   padredana: I think that for the Novus Ordo you could do as you please, take it off or leave it on. Were you to take it off, and you were at the sedilia, just leave it there, if at the altar, the custom is to place it on the open missal.

   I noticed that my pastor had “tied one on” at the Christmas Midnight Mass. I mentioned it to him after Mass and he seemed rather pleased that I had noticed.
   He did not have one tonight for the Vigil Mass. But I suspect that was because the vestment set he was using was “defective” in that it had no burse or maniple.

    Our pastor ‘tied one on’ a couple of weeks ago, and also at the Christmas masses.

    Fr. David Brown, S.J (editor of the New Jesuit Review!!) “tied his on” for Mass this morning in the ordinary form. It was wonderful!

    For those who want to know about the maniple, get a pre vatican II Missal and start reading from the 1st page up until the first Sunday of Advent or buy ‘My Catholic Faith’ by Louis Morrow Angelus Press $42.00. Knowledge of you Catholic Faith is a wondrous thing
