Benedictine Monks of Norcia Summer Discernment Program

From Norcia:

As we prepare for the 11th Annual Summer Discernment Program in Norcia, Italy from July 4 – July 29, the Monks of Norcia would like to invite you or anyone you know who might be interested in this program to check out this website: http://osbnorcia.org/?page_id=59

The purpose of the program is to offer young men a time to discern God’s will for their life in a more concentrated way than normal worldly circumstances permit. Attendees will be invited to participate in the life of the monks as a way to guide their decision.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact vocations@osbnorcia.org.

I’d be happy if I could simply afford to go to Italy.
One time a priest recommended that I take a trip to Clear Creek Abbey. I suppose that would be more likely in my future, at least more affordable.

Father Folsom wrote an enlightening article on the recent history of the Roman Canon, http://www.adoremus.org/9-11-96-FolsomEuch.html, which has had a lasting effect on me. These monks clearly are on the right track to God, and I hope many serious young men take advantage of this vocational opportunity. And it’s good the monks have prominent friends like Fr. Z to promote them.

I personally know two of the young monks at Norcia. Fantastic, yet humble men. I recommend any young man who is considering a call to a more radically Benedictine life than what would be found in the U.S. to check them out. Our dear Pope Benedict XVI is one of their benefactors and strong supporters.
